Do you happen to know who won that? The same thing basically happened to me in the transition from the Dogboe fight to the HBO card lol got caught up in the Nica Boxing, and that fight was particularly engaging but then missed who won lol

None of the undercard results are yet available on BR or even Twitter (apparently the Nicaragüense boxing fans aren't too active on social media)

Lavallais stops Zeledon, going over his rival 2-0 after taking a UD4 last July (scores of 39-37 x2 and 40-36) - begging the question why a rematch was even warranted. :nusenuse:

    Round 1

Alvarado is jabbing over the head of Flores and drilling rights into the body as Flores backs straight up with his guard pinned tightly against his face. Alvarado is ducking and weaving through Flores' counter hooking combos and working lead rights up top in conjunction with double & triple left upper-hooks on the rib cage. Alvarado squats and jabs the body and is backed off by a right hand descending quickly from its holster up high by Flores' chin. Alvarado is catching Flores' jabs on his left palm and trotting leftward around him. 1-2-3 by Flores caught on the guard of Alvarado. Scooping right on the belly from Alvarado. Flores is driven into the ropes where Alvarado opens up with some clubbing rights. BIG triple - nay, quadruple left hook downstairs by Alvarado putting Flores in a corner before he thrashes himself a path clear with machete lefts & rights. Huge overhand right by Alvarado clips Flores as he flees into another corner.

10-9 Alvarado, competitive in moments but overall supreme physical dominance for most of the full 3-minute balance. Wouldn't call it quite a justifiable KD-free 10-8, but as close as it can get without being one.

    Round 2

Alvarado is landing overhand rights from the bell. Time out for some reason, briefly. Time in. Alvarado is backing Flores across the ring and tearing into him with left hooks on the body while Flores desperately flurries him off. Alvarado is jabbing up top, buzzing the beard of Flores, doubling up, making slight glancing contact but keeping his aim true. Alvarado ducking the Flores jab and weaving either way to get under his reach-in back-foot hooks. Flores misses a right hand and gets plugged on the body. Furious exchange before the bell with both missing a bunch, many blows deflected off the arms or partially landed.

    10-9 Alvarado

    20-18

I hope Gemelo closes the show pretty soon, I'd like to be able to pay full attention to at least some of Jacobs vs. Sulęcki live while possible.

Alvarado's countryman, the deposed p4p king Chocolatito, stopped Flores in 4. So that is the "par" time if he wants to make a big statement in what is essentially a tuneup.

    Round 3

Alvarado is pushing Flores across the ring with uppercuts on the belt line, then bringing his shots up to plant the flat plane of the knuckle pad of his left fist in the form of a nicely turned over hook embedded into the cheek of Flores, fitting neatly into the space between his beard & sideburns. Alvarado is using good in-&-out movement, body-feinting, making Flores react with scared defensive jabs which Alvarado can then in turn counter with uppers and clobbering overhand rights stepping in. Flores is throwing body shots, skidding off the bottom of Alvarado's elbow, then working uppercuts with his bottom lip bit furiously under his gum shield in the full throes of concentration, but missing everything. Alvarado hitting and not getting hit. Nature of the game.

    10-9 Alvarado

    30-27 Alvarado

Flores quits on his stool - or his corner pulls him. Unclear, there was some kind of dissent there between parties but ultimately the contest's over.

Alvarado is now 33-2 with 29 stoppage victories.

He is 15-0 (14) since his loss to Juan Carlos Reveco, four years ago. Some of that has been decent opposition and the run includes a world title eliminator last year in which he upset the Fahlan Sakreerin Jr., a well-regarded Thai.

He's due for & deserves a big money fight.

...I think René Alvarado just abruptly dragged his (pregnant?) girlfriend into the ring and dropped to a knee & proposed to her, directly following his brother's match. :dunno

    Round 1

López is meeting Padilla in the center of the ring, both eager to gain command with their jab. Padilla is firing his orthodox variant up on a zip-line from his chest to López's chin, unafraid of his taller and more heavily muscled (in a lean & corded way) opponent. The strength & class of López shines through soon enough, however, as some gnarly corkscrew lefts on the body drop Padilla to his knees. He beats the count but has lost some of that confident luster. López is wailing on him now with left uppercuts on the breadbasket set up by stiff piercing right jabs up top. Padilla moving backward more, pawing with the left jab and ducking as soon as he sees López twitching into the preliminary telegraphing mechanisms of throwing or feinting a punch.

    10-8 López
