Prime Chuck, Cro Cop, Hari, Kongo, Hoost, Struve, etc. Have better chins than Manhoef, Chuck had a decent chin his prime, before it fell off an became complete china. You also listed journeyman like Kimbo, Eastman, and James Thompson.... So you failed, I said top/rated fighters only.

All those guys you mentioned currently have **** chins. Hoost, Struve and Hari have way better chins? lol The Chuck I listed was post Jackson, I probably should have specified this. After that fight his chin was garbage. All those guys listed were rated contenders at one point before their careers dropped off, even Slice who was a hypejob but still was considered a dangerous contender when he was in elitexc.

You act like Melvin is getting KO'd all the time in which is not true. In his 43 career mma fights he's been knocked out only 4 times which is nowhere close to the worst #of fights to KO'd ratio. Apart from his recent KO loss to dangerous kickboxer Schilling you have to go 4 years back to 2010 for his next KO loss to another huge puncher in Robbie Lawler. After that you have to go back another 6 years for his other couple stoppage losses to Schrijber and Glunder who are naturally much bigger men than Manhoef.

In his kickboxing career he has been stopped 6 times in 49 fights, again not close to the worst # of fights to KO'd ratio. Most of these guys he is getting stopped by are naturally much bigger than he is.

I'm not saying this guy has a good chin but it is not close to the worst of alltime.

Manhoef always had a glass jaw, even when he was prime... How do you explain him getting utterly annihilated every single time?

All of those guys have glass chins don't get me wrong, but they've all shown stronger punch resistance than Manhoef! Recovery too. The shot Zimmerman dropped Hari with would have put Manhoef into a coma! Manhoef has one of the finest china chins I've ever seen!

Like I said before he hasn't been brutally stopped every time out. Most of his losses are not by knockout, not all of the stoppages are brutal KOs like the Sefo fight or his last kickboxing loss to Cordoba.

I can hardly think of a good fighter that has been more brutally KO'd several times than Hoost. Not just knocked out for a count of ten but sleeping for a very long time. The only reason he wasn't being KO'd many more times than 11 in his career was because he had sound defence and wasn't hit very hard that much in his career unlike a guy like Manhoef who is extremely aggressive and has poor defence.

Hari got knocked down and hurt badly by a single jab from Semmy Schilt(40%KO).

Yes guys with non sturdy mandibles like Hari can occasionally show good punch resistance/recovery that deviates from the norm.

He should be able to take that Zimmerman punch better because he is naturally much bigger man than a blown up WW like Manhoef.

Melvin has also shown a good ability to absorb hard shots in fights like his war with Cyborg.

Idk man. I've watched 1000s of fights and my take on what a fighter with a "good chin" most of the time means they are defensively sound and not getting hit cleanly that much.
A guy like Melvin who fights like a rabid dog with no defence at all there is going to be those KO losses sometime. You add to the fact that he is fighting men much bigger than he is, big punchers and many fights with 4 oz gloves. I think if you had most of these "iron chinned" warriors fighting under these circumstance they would be loosing by KO many times. I've watched most of Melvin's fights and I have seen him take decent shots on the mug and come right back at the opponent. His punch resistance in general is not close to the worst I have seen in a fighter. Just my opinion.

Manhoefs chin isn't remotely good, just saying... He's gotten KTFO at pretty much every weight I've fought at. I believe he ranked in the top 10 worst glass jaws for a while when Metal Mandible made the monthly glass jaw rankings for MMA.

Semmy Schilts jab is powerful as hell, yeah, if you have a decent chin you should be able to take Semmys jab, but he's KO'd and dropped several glass jawed fighters with it.

You think chin is just "defense" what a crock of ****, that doesn't explain all of the iron chinned fighters with **** defense who never, or very rarely get KO'd. Come on man.....

28 out of the 30 fighters on that list have worse KO'd/fight ratios than Melvin Manhoef. The remaining two fighters(Ernesto Hoost & Badr Hari have more career KO losses).

Manhoef has been KTFO more than Hari, or Hoost.

Arguing two different things as far a im concerned. Melvin gets decimated every time he's hit now. He literally goes to sleep. He chin is totally gone. Who. Cares about the other guys. Melvins chin is now glass.

Definitely an awful glass jaw. He gets knocked spark out by punches that don't look all that powerful.

hahahaha, UnleashtheFury, you said half of those guys have WAY better chins than Manhoef. Yet you claimed he had one of the worst chins of all time. You just BLEW the extreme nature of your own argument. You need to admit that you just blew up your own argument. He gave you 30 guys he said had worse chins, you replied half of those guys have way better chins than him. That means 15 of those guys you were conceding had BAD CHINs and your point was Manhoef's was one of the worst of all time.

Manhoef does not have a good chin but its not one of the worst ever in MMA. Its not a good chin, its not close a good chin, however, everybody knows that. Its not in dispute but to call it the worst ever is just going way overboard. If many of the shots that knocked him out were "SOFT" looking shots then that would potentially change the argument significantly. However, that wasn't the case.

Your argument has been debunked imo.

My finding is in favour of Manhoef having a below average chin but not close to one of the worst chins ever.

    Case dismissed.

Obviously a typo you spaz. Most of those guys have chins far worse than his.

Manhoefs chin is pure china, the proof is in the pudding. He doesn't just get knocked out, he gets knocked the fuck out!

lol, although if he keeps fighting its fair to say his chin is really shot at this stage of his career so that's a different question. My comments come from judging him throughout his entire career, yes his chin was never great, however, I still would not call it one of the worst chins ever.

I would even go as far to call it **** if I was coming from a really extreme point of perfection when it came to being honest about how good or bad his chin was when being compared with the best of the best.

To say it was one of the worst of all time is simply too far.

Plus dude, lets not get confused about BAD CHINs at the end of careers, Take Chuck, he had a very good chin for his prime and then in the last part of his career it began to fade which is exactly what really happens to ones chin as time goes on. It does not get better. How many decent chinned fighters in their prime have we seen go down with SOFT SHOTs after their prime?

At his best Manhouf was going up against THE BEST there was, yes naturally he got clobbered a few times, if he didn't we would be talking about how he had one of the best chins.

    lmao,

yeah I agree he goes lights out,

    never in question dude

i was only saying that you were being a little overboard saying it was one of the worst ever. This isn't a war to the death or anything.

he took some wicked shots in his prime that not a lot of people give credit to as he had a fast speed about him making it hard to see what happened clearly unless you used a REPLAY,,,, plus some of the times he was flattened he was hit with wicked shots.

Its as simple as this, you rate Manhoufs jaw as one of the worst EVER.

Whereas i just rate it as ****.

Everything else we have said on this subject is essentially FLUFF.
