I dunno, Silva's chin hasn't been really tested yet. I'll go with a toss up in K1 match.

Well, Dan Henderson caught him with a pretty good right hand and he took it well.

Melvin Manhoef can win if Anderson silva neglects to take him down. But
If Manhoef fights with a sprawl(control your distance)style; he will lose.
So in mma;Manhoef would have to approach this as a kick-boxing match
and hopes that silva wont wrestle him to the ground.

Exactly and Franklin also caught him with some good shots in the 1st round of the rematch. If hes taking Henderson and Franklins shot especially Hendersons im sure he can handle just about anyones power.

This isnt just "anyones" power. Where talking about Melvin Manhoef one of MMA and Muay Thai`s most dynamic strikers. This fight standing up in my opinion would have the makings of a hall mark classic. A fantastic case could be made for either man and i dont think Silva would have ever dealt with that kind of aggresion before. Genuine 50/50 fight for me.

Silvas pretty slick on the ground its not like hes forced to engage in a Muay Thai battle.

Agreed. But although Manhoef isnt a black belt on the mat his sub defense isnt that bad. His only ever been subbed by the some of the best Judoka`s in the world. No shame there. Silva is certainly better on the mat but Mahoef has some insane GNP skills. The guys just so dam violent!:yikes

I'm surprised such an exciting fighter like Manhoef hasn't been snatched up by the UFC already. His aggresive, fast paced style and high percentage of knockouts would appeal to the Americans who watch the UFC and love their knockouts.

The UFC has already courted Melvin. But Dana is an idiot. He wanted all rights on Manhoef. Naturally Manhoef told him to **** off. The guy still fights iin the K1 and Muay Thai tournys. Much like Fedor he wants the freedom to practice his sport as he chooses. Dana wanted to stipulate a contract that had him exclusively. And thus yet again its the fans that looose out because of Dana`s usual hard ball negotiations.

Manhoef's problem reminds me a bit of fedor's refusal to sign.
Manhoef also happens to fight in K1 (not just K1 heros).
Just like fedor fights in sambo.

The problem with the ufc is that all their contracts are based on 100% exclusivity. Fedor is scheduled to fight in japan on NYE (even though he'll eventually fight for affliction again).

That **** wouldn't happen under a ufc contract.
Manhoef has the privilege to have several choices in his fighting agenda. Accepting a conract with zuffa strips you off from their privileges.
