When George Foreman was first coming back, one of his opponents was a friend of a friend. After Foreman knocked the guy out, my friend said, "He should be ashamed of himself for losing to that old man like that!" That's how lightly Foreman's comeback was taken. My friend felt like his friend had been humiliated.

Nino Benvenuti v Dick Tiger - middleweight champ Nino - although apparently injured - gets schooled in a non-title to 'old man' Tiger

Erik Morales v Zaheer Raheem - Morales, coming off a signature win over Manny Pac, gets outscored by unknown Raheem

Anthony Hembrick v Booker T. Word - hysterical coming into the fight with Hembrick and his entourage performing their hip-hop routine, only to get wasted in one round by the stoic Word (worth checking out on youtube). Saw it live and laughed my arse off. Hembrick never performed the routine again.

And my favorite, which catchweightboxing already mentioned, Adrien Broner v Marcos Maidana - for all his bluster and BS and nastiness, Broner took one bad thumping from the guy who took it seriously. I always say, it was one of my most satisfying moments watching boxing.

 

And as embarrassing as it was...Griffith was a true gentleman after the fight and has never made an excuse ( that I’m aware of )

 

And if you ask Floyd Mayweather...this is why he’s better than Ali
