Mayorga lost to everyone. I started to wonder why the fights were made when they involved him. Did people like the press conferences because other than that he didn't beat anyone at the top level much. Only at the beginning of his run.

Norris/Brown 1 was originally scheduled happened 6 months to a year before. HBO had it. Fight nite arrives i tune in with my uncle to watch. Suddenly Jim Lampley say no fight tonight. Simon Brown went to the hospital because he felt something wrong in his chest/heart. He was scared that maybe he had a heart problem. It shook him up.
Norris manager Joe Sayatvich was interviewed and he kept referring gleefully to Simon having an anxiety attack at the thought facing Terry. In other words....Simon Brown punked out because my fighter is such a badass. He implied that strongly. To HBOs credit for once they defended Simon as a courageous champion who had defended his Welterweight title 7 times.
Well Brown was ok. He I'm sure was aware of what the other camp believed. In Mexico if you watch closely he was toying with Terry with a look of fun on his face.
Joe Sayatovich appeared to be having some anxiety though.

Ok, now I remember. Didn't Maurice Blocker fill in for Brown that night or was it another night?

Holyfield would’ve definitely fought Mercer had he beat Holmes. It’s crazy to think that they never fought each other. I also would’ve liked to see Mercer vs Tyson. BTW, I think Mercer would’ve walked through hell to eventually stop Tyson.

Both fighters knew AND respected what the other one brought to the ring. Toney’s always been a smack talker. However, he understood Jones’s speed would present a significant challenge.

I think he might feel worse about the losses to Montell Griffin. Remember, “Ice” was just 5’7” and not really a known puncher. That’s probably why he fought him twice. He also rematched McCallum (draw and win) and Sam Peter (lost both). Toney knew Jones was a bad style matchup, but he tried and failed. Nothing to feel bad about.

Tony Sibson's destruction of Alan Minter. Many say that Minter was over the hill but after losing his World Title to Marvin Hagler, Minter totally outclassed World ranked Ernie Singletary and dropped a hugely contentious decision to number 1 contender Mustafa Hamsho.
Minter was stopped on cuts often but never knocked out as a Pro. Sibson wrecked him that night.
