Antonio Margarito, to name a lesser fighter. Not only could he walk through extreme punishment, he did it while putting on tremendous pressure, throwing an astonishing number of punches per fight -- and he did all this without the benefit of an advantage in hand-or-footspeed against nearly all his opponents.

He did cut weight, but even then, men who cut weight often are short on chin and stamina, which are his aces in the hole. Perplexing fighter, this Margarito. I can only conclude he had an abundance of mental strength.

Either that, or faith in the notion that his hands would inexplicably harden in the later rounds. Still, I think he is worth a mention.

    Also, Duran.

I think Duran having to over come the 'no mas" incident His trainers Arcel and Brown left him as well as his promoter.

So to go on to beat Moore and Barkley and go the distance with Hagler showed extreme mental strength.

I'm not sure what mental strength means.
Ali was a borderline ******. He failed the Army intelligence tests twice.
I think his IQ was around 60 or 70.

Of course I do, which is why I have repeatedly ranked him the head to head best under 200 pound fighter. Only someone balls deep in the Rocky mythos would find that to be "Anti-Marciano propaganda BS"…

    Congratulations for proving my point.

I've always been impressed with Bruce Seldons mental strength.

It seems like he doesnt have any.
