I had it even at first, but it's probably favouring Pac now. It may change again when the fight nears.
Pacquiao has a clear, clear mental edge. This isn't even debatable. Floyd almost has a seizure every time Pacquiao's name is mentioned, he made a despicable hate-filled video about it, and thoroughly embarrassed himself. By contrast, Pac doesn't worry about Floyd. He doesn't seem fazed or concerned at all. Pac's mentality doesn't allow himself to get angry or distracted. He's a smiling assassin.
To be honest the blood testing allegations is sugar coated, Ever since Pac has the edge. You can clearly see who's comfortable about them when the whole world both asks them to fight each other. You can see one who's on top of the world, Lots of commercials and endorsements, A successful political career (at least at the moment) and lots of love. And the other one, Labeled as a coward by some if not most of the boxing fans out there, creates a hate video and gets sued here and there. Pac has won the mind games with minimal effort. Imo
atsch Yes, because the mark of a lack of intelligence is not allowing yourself to be affected by mind games, and the mark of high intelligence is allowing yourself to be affected by mind games. I think it's pretty clearly which camp you fall into, based on that utterly paradoxical and ludicrous comment.
When have you seen Pac play mind games? The greatest thinkers know the value of psychological warfare. Pac doesn't strike me as a great thinker. If you can't follow that logic then you are a dumb stick.
As a note, since these drug accusations began, Pacquiao has gone on to destroy Cotto, Clottey and Margarito. This propaganda seems to be having very little effect on him, as his performances in the ring have been equally as impressive. However, it may change if and when he's forced to randomly give blood for the Mayweather fight. This was, afterall, Mayweather's intention all along - have a distracted Pac enter the ring. But hopefully when the time comes, the last extraction of blood will be a few weeks away from the fight. Pacquiao's fears of having blood drawn so close to the night will be squashed, and the respite will serve him well.
According to you... Great thinkers = affected by the mind games of others People of low intelligence = do not get affected by the mind games of others Do you really not see how contradictory and stupid that is??! :nut
I think what Universal Part meant, was that Pacquiao is a simple-minded guy. Trash-talking, belittling opponents etc, doesn't even enter his realm. So when stuff like that happens, he brushes it off with a child-like giggle and goes about his business.
mental edge is vital for floyd.......he thinks it's the only way he could beat Pac.... unfortunately its not working
When dana white saw him and ask abt pac, he said what do u care. He then tells reporters the story and called him a *****. GSP and hagler called him a coward. All of espn call him a coward. This has got to hurt the ego and have a lot of pressure on him. No wonder he's beating on women and security guards. The longer he hides from the public and people keep asking abt pac the more pressure he's holding and will soon snap. If he retires b4 facing pac the public will be laughing at him. He's in a bad situation, cause he don't want to fight pac, the more he will feel the pressure. Mentally right now it can't be good.
Since you like making assumptions such as Pacquiao having a less than mediocre mind how about this. Pacquiao is so smart that although he gets affected he doesn't show it because he knows that's what the other party wants. That is why even though he is hurt many times inside the ring it doesn't show. Why when he gets hit he pumps his gloves together at if saying the punch didn't deter him. Or why even with numerous attacks from the Mayweathers he remain calm and collected. On the other hand look at Floyd. Who's the great thinker now.
You now this is a simple thing. When your opponent ask you for a drug test that means only one thing. He is not confident in defeating you. Floyd gave up the mental edge over Pacquiao the moment he accused him of peds and firmly asked for osdt to the point that it cost the fight. This ****ing guy thinks I'm so good he thinks I'm on peds. That's mental edge right there.
None of this mental edge stuff matters until the contract is signed. Right now yes Pac does have the mental edge. Floyd is going through some things right now. Also Floyd doesn't fight unless he is mentally ready to fight. For the people saying Pac doesn't care what Floyd says, why did he sue him? Why did Freddie Roach say that Manny was imitating Floyd's style? Freddie Roach said he has never seen Manny do that before. Why did Manny tell Floyd Mayweather Sr to tell his son that he was going to train his hardest for this fight and his son better watch out? That is why this mental edge stuff doesn't matter until the contract is signed. When 24/7 series starts and Floyd starts mentioning steroids and Manny says his resume/achievements crap on Mayweather, then we will know who has the mental edge.
