MYTH: Duran knocked out a horse.

Duran claims someone bet him a bottle of whiskey and some money that he couldn't KO a horse and he claims he did it and won the bet.

I havn't seen those fights in a while but I'm sure if you watched then Ali was not on his feet for the full 15. The famous GIF of Ali-Terrell shows Ali just casually leaning back, relying on head movement to dodge the punches. He was completely flat footed at the time.

 

Horses are enourmous, with what I'd imagine is a much more rigid and denser bone structure. Duran is hardly a big person, infact he's well below the average size and for him to hit a horse (even a small horse is 300kgs going up to 1000kg) with enough impact he KO'd it his hand would've shattered on impact. I mean like he wouldn't be able to clench his fist for half a year. Also where the hell would he know where to hit it?
