Sure, Tyson could probably come out of retirement right now, tap one of these bums on their glass jaw and go home.
And why would he? Everytime he was offered to do it, he would of take a huge pay cut compared to what he would of made in a boxing at the time. Now that he's done with boxing, maybe now might be the time to ask him to do some matches.
Sure, Tyson could try MMA. But, will he try and fight a guy like Sylvia who promises to stand and punch with him? Because otherwise, no sane MMA fighter would want to stay on their feet with Tyson any longer than they had to. With that said, would Tyson have any kind of defense against a takedown? Probably not. You could never totally disregard him having some sort of chance since he presumably can still punch, and could land something before the fight goes to the ground. But realistically, there's too many other factors at play in an MMA fight that would work against a boxer, especially one who is older and likely hasn't kept in shape.
Sylvia should have won this fight easy. Mercer would'nt have had any answer to a takedown. Sylvia just fought a stupid fight. This was an easy fight for Tim. He was willing to face Mercer in a pure boxing match though, so it shows you how little respect he had for Mercer and how stupid he was. If they fought MMA again 10 times Sylvia would win 10 times. If they fought boxing 10 times Mercer would win 10 times.
I agree but my ratio is a little different for MMA......... I have Sylvia winning 9 out of 10 and boxing i have 10/10 Mercer. I have 1 for Mercer in MMA cos we just saw it on the weekend. The next 9 fights Sylvia goes straight for the takedown
because tyson is too old and dull to compete with the real players in boxing, with mma guys, there's a chance for anything to happen....they are not punchers like boxers are...even the elite mma strikers are a world a difference from boxers in general.
Welcome to the club OuterDrake. (you wouldn't be any different) And no , it doesn't bother me that mma's striking is way inferior because mma isn't boxing. Fighters don't need it to own guys like mayweather , Pac , the klitschkos etc...under their rules. All it takes , is an instant takedown. If sylvia is dumb & pretentious enough to follow a gameplan in which he has the intention to outstrike a pro boxer under mma rules....that's his problem...
btw tyson's daughter recently died too....I wonder if boxing fans are aware of this. People still talk about the guy as if he'd make an eventual come back...but it'll never happen. He's too fat , unmotivated...& the icing on th cake...a horrible tragedy happened in his life..
why go mma for $500,000 and venture into a sport where he is a novice or go back boxing and make 6 million in his first fight back in a sport where he is comfortable he would ko a lot of the cans in mma though, no doubt
Because thats what happens when guys listen and buy into there own hype. Soko is like a beetle on his back. Its pathetic to think he represented his country in Judo and his soooo utterly useless from guard. These guys wont ever learn. I put them in the same club as Hammerhouse. But at least Hammerhouse were all athletically blessed with extraordinary talent. I have more talent in my big toe than Tim posssess in his entire body.
Obviously. But, the point of this thread to discuss the fantasy prospect of a Tyson return. Clearly the geezer is under no circumstances returning to the ring. However, if in fact he was to return, surely he would make more money in the squared circle as opposed to a cage.
