Mercer Or Tua - Legacy

Good post. I would add the Ibeabuchi fight to Tua's resume however, since that was a very one that many scored in Tua's favor. Unfortunately, it took a lot out of both men.

If anything, Tua's an underachiever, and Mercer an overachiever considering his age. Who else gave prime versions of both Lewis and Holyfield such close fights at 34/35?

 

I agree with SuzieQ here. Tua was better than Mercer. One small thing to add. Tua KO' 4 champions. He took Michael Morrer out in 1 round.

 

tua got the better wins and didnt get a belt but hell i could ko tommy gunn and tua put asses in the seats with his ko's thats how you get called great as a HW knock people out and knock em out hard..and killing ruiz is everyones fav knockout

 

Interesting topic actually. I was going to pick Mercer, but the arguments for Tua have been good. I'd still lean towards Mercer though...for one thing he was very competitive with Lewis (the top man at the time) whereas Tua was basically embarrased against Lewis, save for the first 3 rounds.

Tua's knockouts are impressive, but he seemed to rely on his power too much.
