Funny isn't it? People forget. This is the guy who broke down crying because he got booed, gave the media guys watches, and spent the post fight press conference completely ignoring/deflecting any pointed question having to do with Ortiz. Mayweather is a very weak minded emotional man who also happens to be one of the best athletes on the planet. People get it twisted. Floyd is a *****. It's not complicated.

It was the fact that Floyd wanted to thank his fans and Merchant immediately cut him off with a bossy attitude. That pissed off Floyd. That was the first blow. The second one is in the form of Merchant constantly using the word "unfair" as if Floyd had been the one who cheated. Mayweather kept bringing up the whole bit about protecting oneself at all times. But Merchant would just ignore it and stir up questions that worked in Vic's favor. Strike three, you're out.

It can be damn annoying. You add that situation with years of getting downplayed and there's bound to be an explosion. I think what happened was fun to watch. There are a lot of people who rightfully despise Merchant and Floyd pretty much said what's on their mind. I really don't care what happens to Merchant. I can't stand some of his comments but if HBO keeps him on their team it doesn't bother me. He's like an ugly, unpopular character in a film. You don't pay him any attention. You just know he's there to advance the storyline.
