We've seen this before with Mayweather fights, where you have some people saying he was forced to take the fight while others say he hand picked the opponent.

Floyd has a 6 fight deal with CBS/Showtime. Or do you not remember that?

Floyd got the deal by promising he would end up fighting Pacquiao on Showtime. His boss at CBS told Floyd, "No more bull****, Floyd, we've waited long enough. You have to fight Pacquiao now." Floyd said, "Yes sir, Mr. Moonves."

Meanwhile, Floyd is probably still throwing up somewhere.

Pressured, hence why he dropped the name on national TV at the end of Mayhem... :think

Um, Merchant was actually a Boxing Journalist before he was with HBO. It is Kellerman who is the clown with no background to speak of other than having a rich daddy who pulled strings for him.

Floyd: You never give me a fair shake, HBO needs to fire you, you DKSAB.
Merchant: I wish if I was 50 years younger, I would kick your ass:lol:

Again: That doesn't make his opinion worth spit. It's still just "Larry's opinion." I could care less if he wrote for Ring Magazine for 50 years.... The man is biased as hell, an alcoholic, and doesn't know WTF he is looking at because he's too drunk to see straight.

Sorry, but I don't need a drunk telling me what is going on. And I certainly don't need a sports writer to tell me how or what to think. They are no different than anybody else, and being a writer/journalist doesn't automatically make your views right.

Larry Merchant also said Mayweather would never be a big attraction in boxing because of his style. :patsch Larry doesn't know jack. What Larry meant to say was: "I don't think Mayweather will be an attraction because he doesn't fight HOW I WANT HIM TO." Larry is a punk and I have zero respect for him.

Merchant is a known PBF hater and anything he says about PBF can't be taken seriously. How can he say this when before the first Maidana fight he said he had a big surprise for his fans in May 2015. People love to act like PBF never said that.:deal

It is true in a sense that there was no other real option for Floyd.

It doesn't matter now anyway.. Let's just hope one of them doesn't pull out.

No **** the same Merchant who bashed Pea Whiatker, Hopkins RJJ and PBF. The guy is a POS hater who routinely bashes ATG fighters and shows them no respect.

Khan and Cotto were real options for Mayweather. Let's just be glad that he chose Pac.

It makes you wonder how Mayweather has supposedly ducked a million fighters despite the fact that there are supposedly people out there that can force him to take certain fights.

easy there IB...that kind of logic will have you labeled a Floyd lover rather than simply an impartial fan of the sport.
