    Merchant is with HBO. Why would his comments even matter when it comes to Floyd lol? Floyds drop in PPV isnt a big drop. His numbers are still good. PAc's numbers dropped by a couple of 100,000 and his numbers are forgotten. Humble Pac, hated Floyd. You draw it up.

    Hasn't been for years.

    He's an idiot though, and has a bug up his ass regarding Floyd.

    Anyone who's not deep in floyd's ass knows this. Pac called him out. Arum called his longtime friend, les moonves to get involved. Les Moonves showed floyd who is the boss. If floyd has his way, he would just earn his last $32M / fight contract fighting guys like guerrero and maidana.

    So Mayweather calling him out last May has no relevance to you? :lol: Mayweather said he had a surprise for the fans in May 2015... What was he talking about? A Canelo or Cotto rematch? :patsch

    Pugs: Which is it? Is this a "cherry pick?" Or was "Floyd forced to sign a contract." (That is illegal and non-binding by the way.) You can't have both, and it seems that is what the Pac**** nation is going for.

    "Floyd was forced by Les Moonves/CBS to cherry pick Pacquiao." - Pac**** Nation

    Reality for objective people: The pot was sweetened enough for all parties involved that they couldn't say no. Yes, they are going to make MORE than they would have in 2010. The build up and anticipation over the last 5 years will boost sales through the roof. :deal They are promising ridiculous money to both Floyd and Pacquiao. Neither would have got that kind of money in 2010. That's just reality. It's going to make Floyd's $40 million pay days look like peanuts.

    And yes, both have made a ton of money by NOT FIGHTING EACH OTHER during that time frame. Maximizing earning potential before the big fight. Makes sense to me, but it just sucks for the fans.

    You can't blame FLOYD just because Showtime was stupid enough to give him that nice contract :nono

    If you were offered 1 million bucks by a comany that had no say in how or when you had to work how often would you work hard:huh

    Yea I agree with Merchant, Mayweather was FORCED to take a fight HE wanted, and has wanted for the past 6 years.

    @IntentionalButt

    It amazes me that now the fight has been made, there are still those who want to hold on to that "Mayweather is scared" theory, the fights been made, it's irrelevant! The truth is Team Pacquiao had very different plans after the 2nd Bradley fight, of going down to 140, in which they fought Algieri at a catch weight, and were entertaining the thought of Pacquiao taking on the 140lb. class, obviously Mayweather changed THEIR plans. If you look at Arums posturing with trying to impose a signing deadline (something he's done before), debating the date of the fight, and falsely implying they've signed their part of the contract, one might believe it was them who tried to waffle out of the deal again. None of that really matters now because the fight is on.

    Notice how quickly HBO and Showtime issued a statement that they were still working out details so it would shut Bob Arum up. (Arum claimed they were waiting on Floyd)

    I thought the biggest victory, and why I thought the fight was going to happen, was due to Arum's mouth being relatively shut for the negotiations. He slipped up here and there, but nothing like before where he would throw a temper tantrum. When Bob Arum says "I don't know nothing..." you know something is up. That guy can't wait to trash Mayweather when given an opportunity.

    I think that is the power of Les Moonves/CBS, as they had a large carrot to dangle in front of all parties involved. "You want your fighters on prime time CBS, you're going to play ball and make this fight."
