Merchant just said that Pavlik won't fight @ 160 ever again.

The revisionist history on ESB never ceases to amaze me. This claim that Pavlik would get squashed at 168 is absurd. Every single fighter in the super six, except Kessler, was either living off Pavlik's left overs when the tourney started, or had never fought anyone as good as Pavlik's left overs.

I agree with much of this. However, some of those guys at LHW(Cloud, Johnson, Mack etc.) might be too much for Pavlik, at least right away. Give a go at SMW as you say, and stay away from the movers for the time being.

I haven't seen Cloud's last few fights. Did his trainer ever get around to informing him that jabs are legal?

Pascal would beat Pavlik, and Tavoris Cloud would send him to the hospital.

I'm sure Master Jack would let him know.

Pavlik should quickly forget about a catchweight rematch and concentrate on the 168lbs division, if he does that, I'll support his comeback. It's gonna be interesting to see how he puts the pieces together, I for one would still love to see them get Manny Steward and train far away from home. I wish him good luck and good health.

he'll just have to move up to 168 and fight guys nearer his own weight.
