Merchant was an awesome commentator, and a good interviewer. I will miss him. When HBO had Merchant and Foreman together, I thought they were the Dynamic Duo of broadcasting, especially when they sometimes bickers like an unhappily married couple. Larry had a real ringer this past weekend when he said something to the effect, "I have two small dogs at home who put up better fights than these guys". :rofl Sad that this Sat will be his final broadcast.
Larry told it exactly how he saw it, he didnt sugar coat one bit. Always loved him for that. His no nonsense interviews were tops. Loved it how he would often tell the fighters entourage to shut up when they were being too loud during the interview. And of course his drunken philosophical final thoughts of the evening. :good
