He was fighting a good fight, but Merchant was right, he wasn't fighting a perfect fight. I think it would have been much closer to being a perfect fight if Barker would've started to double up the jab, go to the body and mixed it up with upper cuts and staright rights to the head. If he would have found more success with this he could have also began to double up more on his punches and put Sergio in a very bad situation.

But all he did was give Sergio problems with his high guard, height and the very few short punches he threw. He did good, but could've done even better. I give credit to him and Martinez, I thought it was a good tough fight for both, but Sergio's class showed and he found a way to win like a true champion.

Merchant only dislikes Black fighters apparently.

the guy was a 20-1 underdog. he had no business in that ring. Merchant is right. I never even heard of him

20-1 says more about sergio than it did about barker, plus the fact barker was relatively unheard of before the fight.

But looking at barker record, 20-1 was very disrespectful and he proved that last night.

Merchant is a drunk and will be getting fired real soon.:good

I think that says more about you, and anyone else who hasn't heard of Barker. I don't mean that in an insulting way either, but that indicates he's a nobody who wasn't worth the chance he got. I think his performance proved that to be wrong.

He may not be as good as Martinez but he is the best in Europe and is quite capable of winning a world title. Barker would soundly beat Sturm.

I agree, Larry wasn't bagging on Barker... at least in my opinion, he even acknowledged that while Barker does have to throw more, in doing so opens up to more risk of being ko'd. This was round 6 I believe.

Thought the fight was called well by all 3.

Martinez looked like ****. Barker Should have thrown more it's frustrating seeing fighter
Walk forward high guard throwing nothing.

Even still barker is better than Chavez, strum and would be a decent war with pirog

Atleast Barker proved he belongs beyond domestic scene imo, I would like to see him fight again, he was doing very well the first 8 rounds when it was all equal.

What I don't understand is why people like Max Kellerman so much...

That Faceoff last night was embarassing. The entire premise was bad.

Making the fighters go up there and act out...

    Ridiculous.

    its......

    better...

    than.....

    Larry....

    taking....

wait what were we talking about again?

Larry is a senile old drunk ******* who should have the humane thing done and that is put out to pasture before he embarrasses himself any further.

He's become the Al Davis of boxing, living in the past and not realizing its time to give it up, while making an ass of himself on the way out.

What Kellerman provides is a breath of fresh air with someone who is very knowledgeable about the sport.
