Whilst Pacquaio maybe a big puncher at 130lbs i dont think he would be able to hurt Hatton, let alone De la Hoya.

Hatton would maul him in 4 and De la Hoya would have no respect for him at all and would stop him in 4 aswell. If i was Pacquaio i wouldnt go no higher than 135lbs, because he will have his hands full with Baby Bull.

That's the same thing you'll going to say when Pac KOs Hatton & PBF.

Did you read the Mechant interview??? Read above. Henry Armstrong fought welters & Middleweights & he weighs only 133 lbs. Pac's the 144 lbs version of Armstrong in this era.

Pacman-De la Hoya fight won't happen, unless it's in Oscar's last fight (Forbes, then Mayweather, then Pac).

Pacman-Hatton has more chances of happening.

Take note that Henry Armstrong started his career at featherweight, move all the way up till he drew Ceferino Garcia at middle. Pac truned pro at 106, he's now at 130. This is the point you missed. Pac is maxed out and will be too small at 140 above.

Armstrong fought at a time when your official weight was nearly identical to your weight come fight night. It was more or less close to equal weights when he fought bigger fighters. Give or take a few pounds.

Today, fighters know how to cut weight. They artificially lose weight for a few hours, to make weight by dehydrating or cutting weight for the official weigh-ins.

If Pac fought a 140lbs champ, they would weigh the same at the official weigh in. But the very next day, Pac maxes out around 144lbs, and his opponent rehydrates and returns to his natural weight of 160lbs, solid bones & muscles.

It would be a HUGE size and power mismatch.

lol do you think the average 140lb boxer rehydrates to 160lb?

I think he's not talking about an average jr. welter abut about Hatton who enters a fight as a middleweight.

I was just exaggerating a bit. 130-140 lbs is about the max weight comfortably carried by little fighters. While 130-140lbs is the absolute minimum weight the mid sized fighters can go down to. It's gonna be basically a blown up little man versus an artificially weight drained mid sized dude.

10-15 pounds added overnight isnt a crazy jump in weight by these guys.

Dude w/e, Pac can handle anyone at 135 and below. but 140 above is just plain suicide. Even if he can weight 144(is the maximum he could get right now), his opponents will be 145+ at fight night.
That will be a tremendous punishment for him. So my thoughts is, better stay at 135 than sorry.

Armstrong weighs 142 when he fought Garcia who weighs 154 for Middleweight Championship. he Fought welters at 133 lbs.

Pac will come in at 144, Hatton/DLH 154-160, PBF 150.

Armstrong 133, welters that day 147
Armstrong 142, Middles that day 154-160.

It's almost the same right??? Actually Pac will be a little bit bigger compared to Armstrong. Pac weighs 144 when he drains to 130. Once he fights at 140-147 he'll probably will weigh at 150.

Dude if you mean Pacquiao weighting at 150. Its close to impossible. I'm a huge Pacman better but I'm no pacfan.

On my thoughts though, he can only max at 146. Anything there will loose his arsenal and have to repeat his training all over again. Get what I mean?
He has to train at that weight to get back his lost speed and power just to get a hold of it.

But Armstrong was known for his granite chin and his non stop, go forward, his head to your chest, pressure fighting. He was a tough fighter.

Pac has been hurt by fighters from lesser weights, and Pac hasnt really fought a big punching, natural 130 pounder yet. He needs to at least unify at 130 first before going up. But that's not what theyre planning.

Pac takes the best punches of EM, MAB & JMM & never been down. That's quaility chin there.
