Hank Lundy wanted to fight Brandon Rios but instead they chose the guy that just recently lost to Lundy... He felt some type of way about that...

The kid has some holes in his defense that Rios would exploit. I think you should not rush his development. He will go the way of Ciso Morales, Boom Boom Bautista, and Sonsona.

Boom Boom Bautista was rushed by his handlers.

Ciso Morales was nothing special, he received a gift against some Thai bum and was cashed out by his managers when they put him in with Montiel.

Sonsona is just an idiot who never took his career seriously. His handlers would of definetely tooken care of him but the kid wanted as much money he could get as soon as possible. He was a superflyweight chasing a fight with JML :patsch.

Also the 3 guys they all lost to are proven elite fighters in their respected divisions. The jury is still out on Rios.

My point is Gesta obviously does not have it yet... and that to throw him to Rios would be too risky for him.

Wouldnt that case be made for Rios too when he was thrown in with Peterson?

I say do it, he considers it a grudge match because he certainly isnt calling him out for a big payday or a shot at a title.

Plus it would be a nice fight for our Philippines/Mexico rivalry and Roach/Garcia stable rivalry as well.

Arum won't risk it! Its bad business to risk destroying a prospect for such low pay. Rios would smash him in. Gesta should fight John Molina instead as the fight be on a more even playing field but I would still slightly favor the tough Molina by KO. Gesta needs to be careful as his short reach and bad habits puts him at a huge disadvantage.

    Why is Rios ducking Gesta?
Rios already ducked Juan Diaz, John Murray, Jorge Linares, and now Gesta.

Rios is waiting for a worned-out Katsidis to be done fighting next month in August before Rios can feast on a not-fully-rested has-been Katsidis.

Rios must be a scared chicken.

bam bam had 0 hype behind him though, bro....mercito is reminding me of boom boom, and look what happened to him....

bam bam gets hype now, and rightfully so....of course every fighter has a chance, but to say mercito would be a favorite, based on nothing but his opponents is pure ****en garbage....
