True that boxing fans mostly expect too much from fighters. People calling greats like Mayweather and Pacquaio all names under the sun, (they are great, look at what they have achieved) but each step they take is chastised. Boxing, while not dead, is declining due to a combination of promoters not supplying the right fights, the controversies of bad decisions and drug-testing, the number of variations of titles and the weakness/lack of competitiveness in the heavyweight division. These are things that turn fans off and justifiably anger fans in any cases, but attacking fighters left right and centre is far less justifiable.
Thanks for reminding me, I forgot. Im actually showing my face unlike alot of the keyboard warriors on here.
Ducking opponents by ducking drug tests doesn't promote Boxing. What people do outside of the ring is their business.
The "discredit", hate, animosity, rivalries etc are all part of the hype machine that powers boxing. A sport that pits two men against each other in combat is always going to produce these kind of emotions and the critisim will always seem harsh because its an individual sport. It couldn't be stopped nor should it be. and Floyd and Pac are not keeping the sport alive ffs how much of their money do you think they share with the rest of the sport? Most of those massive PPV numbers are from ****** fanboys who only watch boxing once, twice a year. Carrying the sport? You do realise that other fighters have their fights broadcast all over the world in massive numbers too? What about this PPV bull****? How can you expect to see the sport in the mainstream when the biggest fights in the US are locked away from the public in an overpriced PPV event? How bout make the ****ing fight. It's actually all fighters fans who power this sport. Real fans who actually love and support the sport and know the names of more than a handfull of fighters.
