Thanks for your medical insight last night but the jaw WAS clean broken. Honestly Jim Watt is one of the nicest people in boxing I have met. But I spend most fights where he comentates, contemplating whether to cut my ears off or just turn the sound down. He gets it wrong so often. Though it must be said last night was one of the few occassions where his scoring was fairly accurate. "Its definately not broken, which is a good thing"
Massive kudos that he got to the end of the fight! But sadly I think he got a bit of a gift last night, Buffers last words said it all, and reading Billy's in between rounds he knew Ricky was in trouble also. Fingers crossed Ricky regroups. I am waiting to see if the bbbofc let him box on cause there has been couple guys recently with broken jaws who were not allowed to continue career? I asked the bbbofc last week if one of my lads could get pro licence if he had a titanium plate, and they said they would doubt it cause he wouldn't be able to get MRI scan?? Fingers crossed Ricky is good to go, cause he is genuinely one if the nicest guys in boxing!
terrible news for burns if that finishes him presume hes out for a long time as it is?? always comes across as great fella hope he can carry on and nick a couple more paydays with a licence from elsewhere or whatever
I think Watt deserves credit for calling it pretty fairly last night considering it was the current Scottish hero in there. Early on he was giving Burns the benefit of the doubt in some close rounds but around the start of the championship rounds they showed his scorecard and it had Beltran up by a few. I didn't catch his final card but presume it had Beltran wide given how the late action played out from there. So he was actually objective.
He had it 115-113 giving Burns the last two rounds. I think he also had the tenth round a 10-10. So he still had it too close but I was pleasantly surprised seeing him and Johnny Nelson criticizing the judges scorecards.
Watt is one of the worst analysts, commentators, experienced professional etc in all of sports. He is mind numbingly boring, clearly from another era, provides absolutely no insight or has any clever stories that calls upon his vast experience.
Jim Watt is a fool... still angry for him saying Pacquiao shouldn't be celebrating when Hatton was out cold on floor... Ummmm Hatton would have ****ing done the same, might have gone to Pacquiao and sniffed him.
It's laughable how much stick Watt gets on this forum. He's not biased what so ever unlike Halling and Rawling (who both know f*ck all about boxing)
Not biased... haha Are you Scottish ? Jim Watt is beyond biased, even last night he was blabbering on about why Burns was getting minced and all's he could come up with is his bird being up the duff.. hahaha What ? never heard so much shite in my life. Not once was calling for points to be deducted for holding either, other way round and if Beltran was doing it he'd be ****ing all over that ****.
Pretty sure he mentioned the holding a couple of times, he also had a fair scorecard. Watt's not great but he's probably as good as just about anyone in this country at what he does.
Yeah with the tone of he needs to stop holding before points get taken, he wasn't making an objective comment like Burns needs points taken away for holding consistently round after round. If Beltran was doing the holding put your bottom dollar on it he would be saying the ref " NEEDS " to take points away because it was Burns doing the holding he was saying Burns needs to stop holding but not once did he admit Burns should have points taken away. Pure biased shite as per usual.
