He's a great fighter but to be compared with fighters that fought the best of possible challenges, then in no particular order here's what Floyd needs to do, using the career of a guy like Sugar Ray Leonard as an example : 1- Fighting Pacquiao will be his Roberto Duran fight, the 1st one. 2- Fighting the winner of Mosley-Berto will be his Tommy Hearns fight. 3- Fighting Paul Williams will be his Marvin Hagler fight and the icing on the cake ! He's 3 big fights away, not from being an incredible fighter with an impressive ATG career, but litterally to be considered, himself, one of the best 5 fighters ever !!
garbage letter. If Pac beats Floyd it will be a great achievement. Less so for Mayweather-unless he does it in impressive fasion. If Floyd beats Pacquiao hes knowhere near being the GOAT
His resume is scant in the upper weight classes where People actually watch and pay for fights! Like a poster up there said. The SUgar Ray Leonard bit is a HUGE STRETCH.... Leonards Resume is a WHO's WHO!! Take a look and tell me if you can even compare: Beat The Great Wilfredo Benitez Lost to Duran in 15! Came back and beat DURAN by "NO MAS" TKO'ed Hearns in 14! Gave him another shot and it was a draw! AFTER a 3 YEAR LAYOFF came back to fight the Most Feared Middleweight on the Planet in Hagler AND BEAT HIM! (Is this Equivalent to Floyd coming back and fighting JMM? Absolutely NOT!) TKO'ed Lalonde Fought Duran again and won by Dec. Lost to Terry Norris and Camacho at end of career! To compare SRL and PBF is like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Camry. No Contest!
That would only be true if he FOUGHT our favorite fighters... Also, what are we dealing with? The fact that we are likely to never see him box the best? Or the fact that he will fight the best? Because if it is the latter I don't think anyone has a problem with that, thats what we want to see. What you crazed Mayweather fans don't understand is we won't be upset if Mayweather beats our favorite fighters... What we want are great fights! If Mayweather can give us those fights than awesome, great, get it done and make the fights happen. On another note; whats with the homophobia? Compensating for something?
Top 5 is hyperbole, but I've been saying the rest of that for years. The fights are still out there for him, all he has to do now is make them.
Beating Manny will not make Floyd the greatest ever!!! No way! Beating Manny will be a great achievement, i would give the guy all the credit he deserves, but to be one of the very best ever, one has to CONSISTENTLY challenge himself verse the best. He has been a ww for so long now and hasn't fought a proper ww. Though i will say Floyd has great great skills in the ring and if he does say fight Manny, then Williams an co, then well no one can argue then.
I don't think he would have cemented his legacy by beating a Pacquiao. That's being abit too generous to Floyd. At least beat a ****ing top Welterweight or two! Like Mosley and Williams. Then I'll consider him amongst the greatest fighters of all time.
Dont worry mate you will get your wish this summer!!!! It gonna have to be Summer because Pac running for election. Roach has said MAY.
And Pac dont:rofl Ok then let mr money get 60/40 so we can get this contract signed pronto. I mean Pac dont care about money right? :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl
