Theres 1 thing all the biased commentaters have in common.....they work for SKY! (Richie was **** hot on Setanta) It wouldnt be the first time they have sounded like they have been told who to root for. Bar the 3rd round I didnt see any other rounds as that hard to score. (and I gave Smith the 3rd coz I knew they deffo wouldnt give it to john)
I don't think the commentary was biased. As much as Richie may have been favourable to Smith...Halling was bumming the hell outta Simpson's toughness. So overall, it evened out.
What did you score the fight Steve? i had it Simpson by 1. Also were do you think Simpson goes from here??
True. I nearly kicked the TV over at one point. I lost a great amount of respect for Woodhall. There's never any need to be biased by especially in a fight with two British fighters.
Sour grapes a little this Billy. It was a very close fight, one which could have gone either way. You obviously felt your guy won, Richie felt Smith got the nod (as did i). Having one commentator disagreeing with a trainer is nothing new. Richie, for me, is the best commentator on Sky. Was his scoing of the 1st round wrong, for me yes. But for me, it also didnt make a difference in the result. I scored it a 10-9 and still had Smith winning by a point. Your main beef should be with Terry O'Conner and his stupid scorecard, not with Sky's best commentator.
just watched it. what seems to be the problem? apart from the **** scorecard,it was a close fight, the way some of you are going on about it,before i watched it i thought it was a complete shutout for simpson,a massive injustice, not the case, not a robbery at all,get over it FFSatsch
Absolute bollocks! So Watt was told to root for Valuev? atsch Sky are a professional bloody outfit and why would they bother telling Woodhall to root for Smith - its not like he's ever gonna be PPV?
This threads to do with Woodhalls commentary which was clearly pro Smith and makes more sense now knowing Richie worked with him as a AM which i didn't know. It wasn't a robbery but O'Connor's card was a disgrace that's for sure.
Richie is a legend but thats the worst performance I've ever seen from him. Still have time for him but it was disappointing from start to finish.
Ritchie never worked with Swifty as an amateur he came on board with McCracken, Swifty turned pro before the olympics when Terry Edwards was in the hot seat
