    TONY MUNDINE'S MESSAGE

from Sydney Morning Herald - 12th July 2010

Tony Mundine had one message for boxer Peter Mitrevski jnr before the 30-year-old left for England on Saturday: ''Bring my title back home.''

Mitrevski jnr fights undefeated Briton Martin Murray this Friday for the same Commonwealth middleweight belt Mundine won in 1974 against Bunny Sterling. Mundine defended the title four times.

Mitrevski jnr (23-6, 11KO) has won six of his past seven fights but will be the underdog against hometown hero Murray (19-0, 7KO). Nevertheless, the Sydneysider had a warning: ''They see me as an opponent, someone to knock over before moving on to bigger things. They've made a mistake. I may have lost six times in my career but in five of those fights I lost it, rather than my opponents won it. The only loss I prepared 100 per cent for was against [IBF world champion] Sebastian Sylvester, he beat me fair and square. I am going to take Murray into deep waters, we'll see if he sinks or swims.''

Mitrevski jnr prepared by sparring Anthony Mundine and Paul Briggs.

Mitrevski's going to be murderd, i cant see this fight going the distance, the diet Mitrevskis been on is a quick path for failure at this level of boxing. I can tell his seriouse alright, his last fight he fought a guy whos a lightweight lol

His last fight was nothing more than a paid sparring session. I organised his Commonwealth fight weeks before that fight took place.

Be interesting to see how it pans out. Murray has wraps on him but has never been beyond 8 rounds and the word is that he gasses out at that distance. Here's hoping Peter can bring the belt back to these shores.

If Peter could crack an egg i would give him a small chance...unfortunately i give him less than a small chance as a result.

from memory the guy put his hand up and said he did it, no backstabbing involved, he even told Phil he was doing it, basicly baited the guy then dobbed him in? correct me if im wrong as you guys know more about this than i do, i wasnt even aware of a spidot until i was accused of being that user on ABF forums, so i had a sniff around ESB to see what was going on! but you know all this already and your just fishing.

If you think i was spidot then your more of a fckwit than i thought you were Couldhavebeen.

I've just re-read what I posted above and I'm struggling to see where I accused you of being Spidot - apology accepted Ty.

(don't forget you were the one who said 'I wish I could take the credit for it' and therefore condoning the weak act).

You imply but associating me with that name. I do not condone what he did to Phil, especially the stuff that has not been made public. (the comment you refer to was an off the cuff remark i made as i wasnt too happy of being accused of something i had nothing to do with as such was not orignally sympathedic to Phils plight, if anything i had reasons not to be due to false allegations made against me, most people would feel the same.)

I said in this thread that you condoned the cowardly act of knifing Phil Austin, and you made it ABUNDANTLY clear just after it occurred that you DID condone it.

No point trying to change history now - it'll still be there in print.

The message of that comment was pretty clear, im sorry if you have miss understood. If i was spidot and if i did that crap to Phil i would be the first one to put his hand up and admit it. Thats the message of my comment in that regard, it in no way shape or form implys that i condone what he did to phil. Stop clutching at straws and drop it.

Some time ago, Peter thought it would be a good idea if he changed his nickname in the ring from "Baby" Peter Mitrevski to "As cool as an esky, it's" Peter Mitrevski....
