The weird thing is that the best amateur boxers to turn pro recently are Mexican American and they fight like men.

I don't, and I'm wondering when I said I did. If ability is what takes them there then why evaluate on ability and not just examine a fighter's record, era, and accomplishments? Zab Judah had tons of ability, but he's not an elite fighter mostly by choice. Obviously if you recognize a man is fighting in a great era and a fighter comes around to clean the division up he's a top notch fighter. If resume reflects on ability... why separately rate on that criteria?

Yes, Cotto got mad props from me for beating Gomez. In fact, him beating Gomez was just as important as his win against Zab Judah.

Does that even make sense? I think not.

    Clearly you don't.

There we go, that's what I have been pointing at in this thread and thankfully we have a human example willing to contribute. I didn't think it would take long either, have fun now.

You made it a point to brag about how great American Boxing is becuase of the Olympic success... so when you redirect and try to cover up like you just did you just look plain stupid...in fact you owned yourself.

Zab Judah has ability and because of his lack of stamina, which is an ability, he was countered by others' abilities to fight and beaten. Simple as that, your ability is what takes you through other top fighters WHO ARE ALSO RATED BASED ON ABILITY. If you don't have the ability you won't be able to make a good enough resume worthy of being rated by the public.

I certainly prefer defensive fighters. Anybody can brawl. It takes a special kind to be able to use your brain and outthink you're opponent rather then out muscle them.

Alot of latino's like Floyd btw. Especially the younger generation.

Bah you're a ****ing idiot. Clearly reaching. Stamina is an ability? To an insignificant amount, unless you have too much bulky muscle. It's just a mere coincidence that the workhorses that train like animals have unparalleled stamina. Guys like Marciano, Basilio, and Frazier were just born with this stamina I guess.

Zab is just lazy, and undisciplined.

Still can't answer my question because I've destroyed you with logic.

Pac has a wider appeal then Floyd? Certainly doesnt show up in its pay per views.

Pac however is an abnormality. If you look at the vast majority of multi-division champs they have been boxer punchers. Leonard, Hearns, De La Hoya, Mayweather, Whitaker ect.

Probably why we havent seen a Mexican 4 division champ yet. The higher you go the much harder it is to simply out muscle your opponent.

Marquez has a chance if he could get his ass in order though and move up to 140 where he belongs.

Well if that was true than how come all the toughman guys can transform that to pro boxing? Its not easy to even become a world class slugger, or else all the tough guys from the hood,Bars and so forth would be kicking ass in boxing.

I enjoy defense however I like a balance of offense and defense... been waiting for another Napoles to show up. Ricardo Lopez came close but he really had nobody to test him as he was a straw weight.

Probably because they meet a guy like Mayweather who embarrasses them so bad that they never want to pick up the gloves again. I've heard the most demoralizing thing is to fight a guy you cant hit.

Or they find someone like Erik Morales who is just as hard as they are but took the time to learn how to throw a lead right hand and roll punches so even when you hit him you are only landing 10% of your power.

Again sluggers are a dime a dozen. Im sure there will be another Gatti sooner or later. Guys like Barrera, Morales, Mayweathers ect ect only come around once in a lifetime.

Gatti vs Ward to me is cool. But it aint got **** on Corrales vs Castillo, two inside masters going at it for 10 rounds.
