    Manny Pacquiao Offered $65 Million for One Fight

    Who says boxing is a dying sport?

    The most popular fighter in the world, Manny Pacquiao, has been given a proposition that is going to be very difficult to pass up.

    Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim has offered Pac-Man a whopping $65M to participate in a boxing match in Mexico. Pacquiao has never fought in the country and Slim wants to see it happen.

    Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, a 21-year old with a perfect record of 36-0-1, is likely going to be the opponent.

    So just who is this Slim guy? A very important man according to the Telegraph:

    Slim has made his fortune through a vast conglomeration of companies, particularly in telecommunications. Last year, according to Forbes, he overtook Bill Gates (with a fortune of $53 billion) to become the world’s richest man, partly due to the huge success of his América Móvil phone company. It is the first time in 16 years that the world’s richest man has not been an American.

    Mr Slim’s sprawling empire also encompasses banking, retail, mining, construction, restaurants, printing and insurance.

    That makes a lot more sense.

    Canelo gets starched in 8 rounds or less...the same people that complained sugar was too old(rightfully so) will ***** that canelo is too young.

    Best match pacman can make right now.

    Too bad victor ortiz isn't a real mexican. Mexicans do not support american- mexican fighters at all. would have been nice to see carlos slim make that fight right away....but thats fantasy.

    Fact is, his dad moved to Mexico at a very young age, Carlos was born and raised in Mexico and learned his buisness there.

    Canelo can easily make 150 so I guess weight would not be an issue. Make it happen. After JMM, there are Ortiz and Bradley who should be the leading candidates but I think Canelo is just as good as they are and $65 million cannot be topped unless Floyd emerges out of the dark which I doubt. I'm just glad that after Marquez there won't be any more old, faded fighters for Pac to pick on. I'll actually be looking forward to paying for a Pac fight. Imagine that.
