Parra turned this into a stinker!

    Round 6

Parra uses his fast feet and good reflexes and lures Arce from one set of ropes to the next, countering and dodging arfully. Arce goes down very shortly after taking a flush counter hook but it's ruled a slip and Parra is even warned for shoving. Arce keeps lunging with shots, trying to close the gap with his fists to make up for his inability to do so with his legs.

    58-56 Parra

I only seen like 2 rounds of the Soto fight.

He was landing everything but the kitchen sink on the other guy even with his hands down and still couldnt hurt him. Soto's power at lightweight has become dismal and will lose to the first world class fighter he fights next in the division.

    Round 7

Arce is having his jab easily deflected and his right hands easily slipped. Parra has no interest whatsoever in standing and fighting with Arce and is losing fans but winning the boxing match. He is succeeding where Julio Ler failed in trying to apply this style against Arce: actually stopping in his tracks just long enough to counterpunch, even if it's only one-and-done chew-and-screw style. Ooh, a couple of nice digs to the body by Parra standing in the pocket, uncharacteristically. Parra has a point taken away for rabbit punching. :blood There wasn't a warning to my recollection and it didn't appear all that flagrant. Arce is stepping down on the gas pedal and punching forward with his head down but can't keep up with Parra and is taking clean headshots on the way in.

    68-65 Parra

Soto and Arce are both looking past-peak in terms of both age and size.

What's weird is Soto had a really good pair of performances just recently against Chavez and Diaz. Now he looks much worse. Arce has looked consistently bad for a while whenever he's been in with anyone even halfway decent.

    Round 8

Parra remains effective and fan-unfriendly; Arce remains the opposite on both counts. It really does look like Parra was chugging Red Bull before the ring walks, while Arce was chugging Tecate. Parra is still bunny-hopping laterally left and right with energy to spare while Arce is just plodding after him in between jabs crashing into his cauliflowered nose.

    78-74 Parra

    Round 9

Arce is just going for broke, running in fist-first (actually running). Parra gets touched up in combination for the first time all night and responds fairly well, continuing to use his feet and look for counter opportunities. Parra goes down but it may have been a slip. It's hard to tell, the referee called timeout but didn't apply a count. In the last minute or so Parra starts really teeing off on Arce from a distance and Arce taps his chin in a show of bravado just before eating some more hooks from the mobile Parra.

    Round 10

Arce continues with his desperate increased aggression and does get Parra to abandon his counters and adopt nervous body language, strictly running but not creating as much distance as he was. Parra again goes down after Arce plugs him with an uppercut to the belly but again it seems to be ruled a slip. Very strange. Parra throws a 1-2 that Arce blocks before waving him on and encouraging him to fight him in close. Parra darts in and lands a 1-2 to the body and then a longer combo to the face but is out of there before Arce can get anything going. Arce misses a jab high and then one low. Parra is trotting in little semi-circles around him and throwing hooks. Parra distracts Arce with a high 1-2 and hooks him in the body. Arce has given up on the attack and is content to taunt Parra and try to encourage him to step inside, which he doesn't.

98-92 Parra (assuming neither was officially "down" although both touched the canvas - Arce once and Parra twice, both very soon after taking clean punches).

Lupe Contreras simply announces it as "a draw" and does not indicate the scores. :blood

The Parra-Arce draw was shameful. Really fishy that they didn't announce the scores.
