there are two main reasons why mexicans dislike dlh

it's not so much that he's from the US. It's more because...

    a) He ran during the last 3 rounds of the trinidad fight.
    mexicans don't run

    b) He beat Chavez (who was already past his prime obviously)

*The fact that he has an accent when he speaks in spanish doesn't help either

    :deal

But there are plenty of fights where oscar showed heart and fought great. That from the trinidad fight only matters because he was robbed otherwise people wouldnt even talk about it.
It seems to me it is because of the way he acts and that he beat chavez twice that doesnt go well with people.
What do you guys think of Ortiz by the way?

It's more like, whichever category has Chavez wins. I mean I love Erik, I have him as my favorite fighter on my profile, but Chavez is by far the greatest Mexican fighter of all.

Group A is obviously more Mexican, if you want to say it like that, but they both deserve respect.

Okay so it's like this. Which has better food?

Local Taco Bell( Catagory B) or Dona Julia's in Parral Chihuahua ( Catagory A)

Taco bell has good food but when it's the real deal! Can't beat it! :good
    Catagory A gets more respect.

Plus i dont get the whole gangsta thing with Mex/americans. Not all of us are baldheaded fools who roll on 22's. But thats a whole different thread.

My dad cried when DLH beat Chavez... He was drunk but still he cried LOL

that was his hero, and I bet that's how many Mexicans down south feel about it.

Juan Marquez is my favorite Mexican fighter of all time to watch:good

Come on we all know why DLH is hated, that beating he gaved Chavez twice was not accepted by many:D

  11. I cant believe someone would insult chavez and barrera and marquez by comparing them with de la hoya unbelievable :huh

  12. So ur saying vargas and dlh deserve as much respect as chavez? That must meen that u think arreola and rios deserve as much as morales and barrera im still in shock that someone would make such a thread its almost as bad as scott gilfoid comparing dirrell ward to ali liston

While they have had bigger battlers, Dela Hoya has been the smartest guy.

Some people were even convinced he, JCC, sold out! They couldn't believe that he lost to DLH, but opinion changed when they sobered up. Tragic.

The same thing was said about DLH for losing to Trinidad. It seemed like DLH had a hard time getting the support of the Mexican people.
