I am a bigger Cotto fan than a Pacquiao fan,

    so Miguel Cotto.

Erik Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez beg to differ. Erik Morales punked PacMan in their first fight even though he was on the slide. Marquez came back to thoroughly outbox PacMan after three knockdowns that he suffered. In their second fight, the judges got it wrong, which is not the first time nor the last time that will happen.

I'm going with my latin brother on this one. Cotto by KO in 11. It will be a tough first four to five rounds, but once Cotto adjusts to PacMan's speed and power it's all over for PacMan. If Hatton was able to shake PacMan up, Cotto is going to fare better. I also think Cotto is going to do a number on PacMan's body.

On another note, I don't hate PacMan, but his fans make it nearly impossible to root for him. Although I will say this, if PacMan were fighting Gayweather, I would root 100% for him to knock that trash-talking SOB on his ass.

Punked is too strong a word to describe Morales' win over Pacquiao in the first fight. He won a very close but convincing decision against a fighter who was moving up in weight and had a nasty cut above his eye during most of the fight.

Marquez is a Mexican legend that Pacquiao never destroyed. Whether the judges got it wrong or right (2-0 Pac imo), noone was destroyed. Barrera in the first fight, Morales in the third, and Oscar (if you consider him Mexican) were destroyed. Morales and Oscar were past it when it happened, as most legends are when they get destroyed. Barrera was still in his prime through, which is what makes that win really stick out on Pac's resume.

I think that what makes most Mexicans not pull for the Pacman is his ongoing rivalry with JMM. If that was settled they would be more willing to adopt him as a real favorite. Cotto on the other hand has no reivalry with any Mexican fighter, even though PR and Mex have a huge rivalry throughout history.

I'm Hispanic but not Mexican. My wife is from the Philippines and I know her and her family will be rooting for Pacquiao. On the other hand, I will root for Cotto because even though her family is very respectful when cheering for their fighter, I have seen too many arrogant Pacquiao fans that just make me dislike him very much. Cotto all the way!!!!

Pac vs Morales I= Morales in Round 3 (?) threw his hands up in the air and made a funny face as if to let Pac know that his punches weren't **** that night. In the 12th, he went toe-to-toe with Pac left-handed!

Barrera had a few distractions/excuses in their first fight. He also may have been 29 or so in their first fight, but he was an old 29 as far as ring age is concerned. In their second fight in which he had a virtually trouble free camp, he was able to go a full 12 with Pac. He still had enough in the tank to keep Pac honest because if he didn't Pac would have blitzed him out just like in their first fight. That fight, IMO, only led to more questions than answers of what would have happened if a prime Barrera had met Pac (A prime Barrera meaning a Barrera who had not had all those previous wars.)

Your last paragraph is something I don't really agree with. Whether Pac won or JMM won, I don't think it would make the Mexican fans root for or against him in his fight with Cotto. I think it would boil down to whose style the liked better, IMO. In my case, I'm going with my latin brother instead of Pac. And it's not because he holds an "official" win against JMM.
