Who are some promising propects from these countries??? Mexico has Canelo obviouslly, but who are the top mexican prospects? What about the top prospects from England. They always produce boxing stars every couple years from Hamed , Hatton , Calzaghe, Khan. Whos the next big thing from England?

Frankie Gavin has a gold medal in the World Amateur Championships and could potentially be something special. James DeGale is our Olympic Gold Medallist who is fighting for the British title against Paul Smith this month. Paul McCloskey and George Groves are also on a very good run having straps themselves. Nathan Cleverly seems to be the big name though, just came through a good win over Karo Murat and Kell Brook who managed to stop Michael Jennings in a lackluster fight, but a stoppage of Jennings is still a stopping of Jennings.

Ricky Burns is fighting tonight I believe too. He recently defeated Roman Martinez in the 130 for the WBO strap.

There are a raft of others that others could go into better detail about .i.e. Billy Joe Saunders.

From the bunch of English fighters I believe Nathan Cleverly is going to be next big thing!! Skilled, fan friendly, stepping up little by little, doing good so far!!

Who I would call the "elite" prospects - guys who have P4P potential:

England - Frankie Gavin, James DeGale, Nathan Cleverly
    Mexico - Saul Alvarez

Other solid prospects who could be near the tops of their divisions, but maybe not as elite

England - Scott Quigg, George Groves, Kell Brook, Tyson Fury
Mexico - Cristian Esquivel, Marco Lopez, Juan Carlos Burgos, Juan Jose Montes, Alonso Lopez

Any thoughts on David Price? The guy has decent amateur credentials but he hasn't exactly stepped out of the stage where fighters fight nothing but bums. Bit like that American geezer Deontay Wilder?

Price is way better then Wilder. We will see, a lot of people have said very good things about him but I haven't been that impressed so far. I look forward to seeing how he does when he steps up.

Frankie Gavin is England's best prospect by a mile imo. James De Gale has the potential to mix it a world level also.

I've not seen anything of Wilder and I don't really want to after looking at who he has fought. Price needs to step up though, the guy more than has the skillset to be looking to take on guys like Tom Dallas and Larry Owebafamio (spell check) in 2011 I feel.

Bit by bit he was an amateur for a long time. I would like to see him step up against the likes of Zack Page, Travis Walker, Demetrice King, Raphael Butler, Gbenga Oloukun etc.

Eh. Wilder might suck - it's just hard to tell at this point. But I can tell you up front that David Price will NEVER be a world class fighter. He's just not physically talented enough. Either way, I truly believe that Tyson Fury is miles better than Price, who has very little going for him except that he's big. At least Fury has an ever improving jab and can take a punch. I suspect Price is pretty chinny. He had some chin issues in the amateurs, and he's been matched against light punchers so far. Wilder is proven to be chinny already, which is part of the reason his stock has dropped so much in my mind.

That's true about Cleverly. For some reason, I read the question to say British, not English. But Cleverly's not English. I consider Gavin to be as English as Amir Khan I suppose. He's not ethnically English, but I don't think that really matters. It's not like Alvarez is ethnically meztizo either.

Cleverley is Welsh, but he will be Britains next world champ imo.

I can see Kell Brook winning a world title as well.
