    Morales

His reach, height & ability from distance would cause problems for Floyd... his gutsiness, iron jaw & willingness to brawl in a sudden moment would also make this Mayweather`s toughest fight IMO.

Floyd has never been in with a fighter as good as Erik Morales before... the same is true vice versa of course but no doubt Erik would cause him all sorts of problems.

Morales is exactly the same size as FLoyd (the same height, the same reach) if this was at 130lb I cant find argument how could be Barrera small comparing to Floyd if he was not too small comparing to Morales :think :patsch

Barrera is a stylistic nightmare for Floyd.

    1. Nobody says anyone would `blow right through` Floyd.
    2. The Morales that lost to Raheem was not the same Morales that tooled Ayala, those fights were at 126 (Ayala) & 135 (Raheem) anyway & the fights on this thread are the best versions of each at 130 lbs.
    3. Barrera was only `blitzed` once by Jones, the other was a points loss, again neither fight was at 130, both were at 122 lbs.
    4. Marquez lost to Norwood & John at 126, not 130.
    5. Glad to help.

Barrera gives him the toughest fight. Morales has a tendacy to throw game plans out the window otherwise I'd pick him.

I think all of them go the distance... I think Floyd would have beat all of them at 130... But i do believe Barrera would have gave him a hell of a fight, even at 130.. I think he would be able to hit Floyd more than these other guys and hed apply effective pressure...I remember when Floyd fought Jesus Chavez, Chavez was giving him a pretty good fight up until the mid rounds... Jesus combos were similar to MAB, but overall he was not as effective or as smart as MAB... FLoyd could punch at JL, but i really dont think he would wanna try and mix with Barrera.. Besides Marco had a great chin, he isnt getting kod (Jones wasa fluke) and Pac had to hit him with everything but the kitchen sink.. FLoyd would be the stronger of the 2 though, and he would still box brilliant and light up MAB at times... FLoyd does enough to win a close but unanamous decision 115-113 115 -112 something like that...

I think Floyd has a much easier time with Morales, who i dont think was as fluid as Barrera.. Great fighter and his equal but style wise i think , Floyd would be to fast for him and win a decisive decision.. Morales would do good and win a couple rounds, but it would be a wide decision for Floyd 118-110 or 117-111..

I think JMM would obvioulsy do better against Floyd thatn he did at WW.. In fact a lot better hed be competetive in some rounds but .. I think Floyd does good early dropping Marquez, the Marquez makes a strong comeback with May in the mid rounds... Mayweather drops Marquez agains and towards the late rounds is having his way..... 116-110 Mayweather.

Dont think he was saying Pac cant KO Mosely NOW.... think he was saying Pac cant KO Mosely in ONE ROUND as apparently you have said in another thread.

Ps. I dont think Mosely will be KO`d vs Pac... I wont be shocked but I expect Mosely to be able to take what Pacquiao has to offer for the whole 12.

Morales would have no answer for PBF's lateral movement and speed. He would get frustrated as he is constantly beat to the punch countered and PBF is gone and is forced to reset.:deal PBF was too much for the great EM at 130.

Actually i think Floyd is just as good at WW as he was at JL... He was funner to watch and harder hitting and very strong for a jL, Also a big JL.. But hes more slick, smarter and has gained alot more experience, not that Floyd ever had life and death fights at jl (although at LW he did with JC) I do remember a few guys having some good rounds against him, i think hes able to pitch a shutout more often now than then .. I think that pretty much evens it up.

:think Your telling me you caught all of those guys at the forum.? So did i and Barrera was thought of as a beast back then... Most people thought Junior Jones was past it and had a glass jaw.. You must have been the only one, cuz that was a huge upset... Ill give you the benefit of the doubt though, since i have also picked big upsets.. But that one shocked me.

Junior Jones was in his prime when they fought, he WAS NOT PAST IT! And yes Junior did have a AVERAGE Chin.

But there is one problem, Junior was a very RANGY boxer with a big RIGHT hand. And MAB hadn't faced anyone like him before. MAB was given a tough fight by the SMALLER Kennedy.

It was an upset but that has more to do with MEDIA ADULATION than REALITY!

Floyd is a pretty good welter (and by that I am taking other eras into consideration), but I wouldn't favor PBF over any of the ELITE welters of the 90's. And they were NOT that great themselves.

I can't say what type of jr welter PBF is or was because I have NOTHING to go on.

PBF has been smart, he has stayed away from YOUNG, STRONG guys with skills, or VERY strong guys who are extremely durable as he has moved up in weight.
