buxzer, and i'll give you the only fact that counts. Mexico 43-21-2 in title fights. Mexico 155 World Champions - Philippines 32. here's another fact, pacquiao is a great fighter. no denying that but it seems you and your fellow *******s work overtime trying to discredit mexican boxing. vs. barrera - great, great wins by pacquiao. can't say anything derrogatory about that. vs. morales - do you actually seriously think morales was in his prime physically when pacquiao got to him? a prime morales kicks pacquiao's ass alot easier than he did the first fight and morales was looking for his retirement then. not to mention morales was coming off a loss to barrera and had finished a very exhausting trilogy with barrera. you caught a morales who was clearly on the downslide and you know it. vs. marquez - i can honestly say pacquiao has had 3 or 4 really great rounds against marquez. that first fight regardless the 3 KD's in the first round was tactfully dominated by marquez. marquez lost what, 3 rounds in the whole fight and pacquiao was GIVEN a draw? their second fight was a total marquez victory. the only reason in many experts eyes the fight was close was the KD pacquiao got on marquez. other than that, marquez, again, took pacquiao to school. you see, if pacquiao would have been man enough to say, okay, the fight was close, i'll give a great warrior like marquez a rematch i would have respected him alot more than i do but no, he pussied out and went up to lightweight to face the weakest champion in david diaz. when he beat diaz, he quickly went up in weight because marquez went after that little yellow bellied coward (no pun intended). yes, pacquiao has three great names but if you look more closely it (his achievements) are not as great as they seem cause he caught most of these three on the way out and also got a nice little gift from the judges courtesy of bob arum.
Mexico is a great boxing nation... They have my respect and appreciation... What I don't understand is, I only pointed out an obvious honest observation. What's wrong with that?? Let's see it again... One boxer knocked down 3 out of the 8 names in Mexico's greatest fighters list... I think no other boxer have done that... Mexico's greatest fighter? Salvador Sanchez Vincent Salvidar Juan Manuel Marquez Julio Cesar Chavez Marco Antonio Barrera Ricardo Lopez Carlos Zarate Erik Morales
I don't mind you saying DLH ranks higher than PAC but.. You are not a hater?! YOU don't categorize yourself a PAC hater?! atsch:admin
Maybe its just me but Manuel Madina surely deserves a shout? 5 times champ and a great heart? The win over Scott Harrison in my mind stands out? Mr Mantecas was a man never to count out of a fight. Was the first match i successfully gambled on. The man is a legend in my eyes.
Have to go to Chavez..granted, i'd say the majority of his first 80 fights were against powder puffs, but he was a great fighter who truly epitomized the "Mexican Warrior" mentality...If Sanchez didn't die at such a young age (23 i believe?) i think he would've had the best chance of ousting JCC from the top spot as to me he was the most complete mexican fighter ever....
Morales was old. Barrera was KO'D by Junior Jones way before. JMM gave a boxing lesson. We are talking about that guy, right?
Yes we're talking about that one guy who knocked down 3 out of the 8 Mexican greatest fighters... There's no other guy who have done that I think... But why you are justifying why 3 Mexican greatest fighters got knocked down by this guy when in fact I'm just pointing out the obvious that this guy did knocked them down... We're only talking about the KD, no need for justification why it happened... .
i would love to see JCC Sending Pac to retire ... affortunately for the pac, he fought at 135 and 140 vs David Diaz and Shitty Fatton
I see a ******* had to come in and make this a thread about Manny Pacquiao again. Typical. Ricardo Lopez had opportunities to fight Gonzalez and Carbajal, two fighters more accomplished than anyone he ended up defeating. Barrera and Morales had better cases for greatest Mexican than Lopez, although this is a battle between Olivares and Chavez in my estimation.
**** man... if someone started with Flash Elorde or some other great Philipino fighter and found a mexican that beat 10 phils and started shouting about it like Phils were inferior would that bother you? Just shut the **** up already.
