This was a quote from Roach, about Rigo.

“However, there are issues with him given his situation leaving behind his country, his family, the Miami people trying to get a hold of him – there’s a minefield out there for him. Do I think he can make it? Sure. He could fight for two titles on the same night and I’m pretty sure win with no problem. But he has it much harder than most on the personal side.”

What does he mean by miami people?

Rigo defected from Cuba and probably resides in Miami which is probably majority Cuban. I went to college at the University of Miami so I stake a claim to be somewhat part of Miami people. The shame the school is going on right now though because of the booster scandal.

Go canes. (my nick on ESB)

Rigo defected to Miami. The people around him in right now are the Miami people.

Livan Hernandez defected from Cuba and played for the Marlins for years. I'd venture to say that half of Miami-Dade are from Cuba. I think Gamboa, Jhonson and Lara all reside here so unless Rigondeaux has shady people around him or was into something beforehand, he'll be alright.

Alumni class of '99. We'll be alright. I see a couple years probation for this scandal but there's guys like Shapiro around every program.

Kid Cubano, you're the success story to everyone down here. School everyone about the lifestyle down here.

I love miami(besides the language barrier and horrible ass driving lol). but like everywhere else you have shady folks. and im sure alot of the cubans are shady as hell trying to get a piece of his pie for as long as they can. Maybe he is onvolved with some of those people or has a hard time saying no.

Class of 2001, graduated December, flew back home to LA, friends followed a few days later and we all watched the Canes blow out Nebraska Cornsuckers at BCS Title game at the Rose Bowl. Shapiro started his mess in 2002. They can't take away that championship. It's not like they bought recruits.

:huh What's Bezzie's? The Rat wasn't anything special other than it was cool to have an on campus bar.

I remember when you exposed ESB's Jacory Harris as a fake a months back. I wonder if he still claims who he says he is now that the real Jacory Harris been named in the NCAA investigation.

Bezzie's was that spot on miller (sw 56th) that had all those sandwiches and pasta and stuff. it was run by two dudes who went to the U and had maaaad U memorabilia . I saw ****** Sapp there once and Roscoe Parrish. Food wasnt all that but great U atmosphere.

yeah the Rat was just a chill hangout with beer. no hard liquor lol.

haha Yeah Jacory was a fraud. a very pathetic one at that.

I think imma hit up Titantic one of these days. still have never been there. always wanted to try their own brewed beer.
