i havent seen areola do anything that really impresses. grant coulkd give him problems here, he is big and strong and can hit....i think areola would win the fight but would have to endure some shaky moments

From what I recall from print and vid clips, the grant-adamek fight was closer than all you adamek fans wanna concede but i'll have to watch entire fight.

At any rate, I'd love for a Grant - Arreola fight to be made. If Grant is any way serious about doing something than he has to be able to beat a guy like arreola (and vice versa too). It'll be interesting to see how Grant deals or doesn't deal with someone with descent power at this stage of his career. For those clamoring that Arreolla will kill him, keep in mind grant's power and the ease by which arreola can be hit and plus that despite CA being viewed as a contender for about 3-4 years now, a win over 38yr old grant would still be arguably his best win

It was not a close fight at all. Grant virtually won zero rounds in my book. He was simply way too inactive while Adamek was peppering him throughout the fight at will. The round where he managed to connect with a big shot (I think it was 10th) could arguably go to him. The reason why people say this fight was close was because of that moment in the fight where it looked as though Adamek may be stopped. But that was just one moment towards the end of a round. Otherwise this was not a close fight. Grant did very little.

    Good take.:good

Would definitely be both of their best wins lately. Maybe Nipples best altogether. Biggest name anyways for Christobal.:rasta

I would like Grant to get another shot at the title....He seems to have finally found some confidence in his chin. It only took him 10 years:lol::lol:, and it may only be because he was able to go 12 rds with Tomazs:lol::lol:

I think I'm in the minority here of thinking Grant actually gives Arreola some trouble.

For folks who don't quite understand how professional boxing is scored it always looks close when the bigger guy is trying to "ineffectively" hammer the smaller guy. Adamek won just about all the rounds.

He may give him some issues but I cannot see why anyone would favour Grant here. Based on volume punching and durability of both fighters, I see Arreola taking this.

Kudos to Grant though for being willing to take this and make his chin vulnerable.

I gave Grant 2 CLEAR rounds, and scored 2 tied, which could've gone either way.
Adamek won the fight fair and square no doubt about it, but he did little to hurt Grant, and was himself nearly starched, not once, but 3X.

I'd favor Grant in a rematch, not because I dislike Tomazs or because I like Grant more, but because I "think" that Grant would be less tentative and take the fight straight to Adamek from the outset.

As for the Arreola fight, I can't see Arreola risking his surefire shot at Wlad. Grant would CLEARLY be a risk to him, and he doesn't want to take any chances in his comeback for his final huge payday, and I DONT BLAME HIM.

    Makes sense for both guys.

It isn't like Grant has a ton of time left. This would probably earn him six figures on HBO BAD in a reasonably winnable fight.

For Arreola it's a solid tuneup for a Klitschko from a height perspective and I fight he'd be favored to win.

Grant was pretty passive in that Adamek fight, but Adamek had no idea how to hurt him. I consider it Adamek's toughest test as a heavy--a slightly harder night than against Estrada of Arroela.

Arreola might have the same difficulties against Grant's size advanatages--keep in mind Arreola was also a light heavyweight as an amateur and isn't much bigger than Adamek without the flab.

Grant was leaner and meaner against Tye Fields and I believe him when he says he's improved alot since Adamek. He's been looking for a big fight for awhile now.

I'd like to see Arreola-Grant. I'm not sure it would be exciting but this is the kind of win Arreola needs to convince the doubters. I think it's possible Arreola could outwork Grant--a KO isn't out of question either. Or maybe Grant will catch Arreola early and Chris A has a long night of it....

Indeed. I don't know why Arreola takes the fight unless he's super confident right now. I'd love to see it though!

I just watched the first 7 rounds on youtube and you may well be right that the score by the end wouldn't be very close. I had Grant clearly winning the 3rd only. Thought the 5th was very hard to give either way and most if not all of the rest were close but for adamek (for example, adamek probably took the 6th on volume but grant definitely rocked him just before the bell.) Still gotta watch the rest after work, but so far it seems to be a fair characterisation IMO that the fight is somewhat close (meaning pretty well contested with very few clear and dominant rounds).

Well chooing Arreola is gutsy.. but he ain't no where near proven-- as of late- to fight Wlad.... he couldn't even decisively beat Adamek

I suggested the Arreola vs Grant match up to Goosen Tudor promotions....I'm expecting awesome press row seating tp Ward - Froch for my amazing match making efforts :yep
