Rumored to be in the works for a PolSat gala on December 5th.

Jeżewski will compete in the main event of this gala regardless - whether in a rematch of his 2016 clash with domestic rival Cieślak (originally a TKO3 loss for Jeżewski, but changed to a No Contest after both he and then fellow unbeaten prospect Cieślak tested positive for banned substances) or a somewhat easier assignment versus 33 year old Ukrainian glass cannon Roman Golovaschenko. Polish media is conflicted on which match is closer to being finalized - but my hope is that we get to see the grudge match four years in the making.

Cieślak is desperate to appear in the ring once more this calendar year, which began with a controversial loss to Ilunga Makabu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the WBC title. If the opponent for Jeżewski ends up being Golovaschenko, no word yet on whom Cieślak would face instead but his team is adamant that he fight by year's end. Wary of rust setting in, Cieślak has been forging himself with iron - sparring for most of 2020 against top flight countrymen in fellow cruiser contender Mateusz Masternak and powerful (if flawed) heavyweight Artur Szpilka.

Jeżewski's sparring habits have been no joke themselves, however. He helped Mairis Briedis (who in June knocked out perhaps the one Pole some might rank ahead of Cieślak at cruiser in Krzysztof Głowacki) prep for his September clash with Yuniel Dorticós Pao.

I'd ordinarily pity the fool stepping in with Michał Cieślak coming off a period of fuming for eleven months since the DRC debacle and honing his skills with angry spars against big bad types like Masternak and Szpilka - but Jeżewski, the great big 6'3" madman, is the one CW in Poland that has consistently said he wants Cieślak...and that's with having already tasted his mettle and being kayoed by him! (now unofficially, and it was kind of a blatant rabbit punch KO in the first place, but still)

Very confident young man, Jeżewski - and obviously feels he has improved in the last four years enough to get a better result (and as it was, he gave Cieślak hell for the 7-8 minutes it lasted in 2016 ...probably the hardest fight for Naughty Boy until Makabu)

    Correction, it'll be:

    • Cieślak vs. Jeżewski II on 12/5, or
    • Cieślak vs. TBA on 12/5 and Jeżewski vs. Golovaschenko a week later on 12/11.
