Michael Ansah vs. Benjamin Lamptey RBR

Two zip Ansah, controlling with the fluttery jab on the way in, stepping forward and throwing combos inside. Lamptey just shelling up when not wildly hooking over Ansah's ducking head.

 

Lamptey threw and landed more than he did in the previous two combined in round three, but still the messier offense by far. Ansah probably just squeaked it on left hooks on the body (landing before getting put in a headlock by Lamptey repeatedly)

 

Crazy brawl in the fourth...Ansah caught and down hard! Lamptey laying in on him with hooks and overhands. Ansah slugging away, trying his damnedest to reverse momentum with body shots. Both missing a lot at point blank. Another knockdown? Or stopped for a foul? Unclear, stream hiccuped, and when it resumed both fighters were in neutral corners.

Big shift in Lamptey's favor there.

 

Good rebound for Ansah, the fifth, with consistent body work up close and jabs afar. Lamptey's stuff being slipped easily.

Oh, ffs...that actually is Benjamin Lamptey, not Michael Dodoo.

Feels like all he needs to do to win is survive. Lamptey has the power edge but is elsewise outmatched.

 

Lots of wet spots on the canvas...slip-n-slide.

 

Lamptey should really have a point deducted for these flagrantly premeditated headlocks.

 

88-82 Ansah, clowning a bit, workrate dipping...still better quality than Lamptey.

 

It appears Lamptey has quit on his stool.

Some controversy around the stoppage, and who called for it...Lamptey very upset, slapped Ansah's hand away instead of shaking it. Very tense atmosphere between the camps, verging on a mass rumble.

So the originally scheduled opponent was Benjamin Lamptey, and then earlier this week they swapped in Michael Offei Dodoo, but then in the last 24 hours it reverted to Lamptey again.

Anyway, not sure if Ajom or Dodoo now gets the first crack at 1 Bullet. Or, I suppose, a Lamptey rematch...although he's on an official four loss skid now, so..
