Someone should make a list for worst Post-USADA runs. Weidman has to be #1, was champ, high on the p4p lists and immediately after testing started getting destroyed.

Think Lee is gonna ko/tko Chiesa, both good wrestlers but Lee is much better on the feet

Lee is insufferable, but at the same time a superb talent.

I think you're half right... After rocking Chiesa he gets the sub after softening him up.

Yamasaki once again proving why he's one of the very worst high profile refs in the business.

He was going to get chocked but if he didn't tape and wasn't out, ref should have let it go

You let the fight reach it's natural conclusion. Yamasaki is a joke... He either lets guys take too much punishment, or pulls **** like this.

I think MC have a good case at appealing and changing that to a NC.

Nah, he would have needed to have at least been escaping the position and submission attempt to get it changed to a No Contest. He'll have a better shot at arguing for a rematch, though I think the fight was conclusive enough for Lee to pass Chiesa in the rankings and get a top 3 opponent.

Edit: Top 5 opponent. Chiesa was the #6 lightweight, according to the UFC, going into the fight.

You're probably right, it's unlikely Chiesa would have escaped that submission but he should have given the chance that all competitors deserve. Unless you've tapped or have been choked unconscious there's no for the ref to step in. Likewise the Chandler/Primus stoppage was also terrible, if a fighter is willing to fight through a bad injury they should be allowed to. It's like we can't get a balance with these refs. They're either too knee jerk in their or allow competitors to take inhuman amounts of punishment before finally deciding to stop the fight.

I agree with you in the case of Chiesa. Yamasaki overreacted, misread or just outright f@cked up in his call. Chiesa was not injured, out or submitting.

The Chandler fight was different. Chandler was clearly injured and that fight should have been stopped before he had the chance to drop Primus. MMA is a sport and the officials sometimes need to save fighters from themselves. Tim Sylvia protested this fight being stopped against Mir, all while his arm was swinging where there is no joint:

Renzo hadn't tapped here but the ref did the right thing:

You can argue Chandler's injury wasn't as bad. I'm not a doctor. I don't know that and neither does the referee. Chandler had to stand on what may have been a fracture. Renzo and Sylvia were walking around just fine when those fights were over. I don't think they should have been allowed to continue no matter how bad they wanted to.

Hendricks is 1-4 with 2 stoppage defeats. For what it's worth he clearly got shafted against Magny, but then went on to get a gift against Lombard in his very next fight. What's next for him? I say feed him to Belfort.
