Not a bad fight with the streak baluta is on. Would like to see Conlan fight a Danny Roman or Isaac dogboe next but think he will go straight into a Stephen Fulton title fight if he wins this
Typical conlan fight. Calls it a revolution then he fights a nobody. Boring fighter who hasn't fought a decent opponent.
He's not a nobody. He's better than his record suggests. He beat former world champ TJ Doheny, and David Oliver Joyce . And is ranked 16th on boxrec.
Conlan is a very good technician, doesn't get hit much. I know I'm in the minority but I enjoy watching him and expect him to become a world champ.
Yes it was a good win but we are talking off a boxer who cant crack an egg and his team are selling us this hype. Not for me , better lads out there. And we have to suffer booth also alongside him.
I think Baluta is good, solid streak he’s on and looked impressive against Joyce - he simply didn’t let the Irishman get into a rhythm and constantly pressed him with hard meaningful shots. He’s very game and will go after Joyce. My issue is the weight - Conlan is a career feather. Baluta is ranked at Super-bantamweight, and in 2019 he even fought at 117 pounds. So I think he might be a little too small to truly bother Conlan, but he will certainly push him. I like Conlan and think he’s a good boxer. I think he’s been brought along correctly - the standard at the top of feather is high and it’ll be hard to get into the title picture but I rate him and think he’s doing well.
It's been years since Conlan went pro, I hope he ups his game and rattles a world title before he geta too old. 30 now. . . and very light, he won't last too long unless he pushes on
The old match-makers trick of picking a light puncher from a lower weight still catches a few out. Adam Booth has been quoted as saying Josh Kelly is the best boxer he has trained.
