Anybody trying to deny Holyfield was juicing is living on cloud 9. He employed Mr. Olympia champion and known steroid user Lee Haney as a strength and conditioning coach. He also was connected to the BALCO steroid scandal under the now famous alias "Evans Fields" having steroids and HGH delivered to his home.
And I even heard back in Holyfields day you could have as much HGH delivered to your address as you wanted!!
They just recently banned HGH in the NFL HGH was rampant during sports back during Holyfields day, there was no strict or competent drug testing to stop their use, no VADA or USADA, no top end detection methods
I would also like to add that primitive ineffective methods of detecting steroids started popping up in the 80's, so technology was absolutely poor all the way through the 90's.
I think Dokes speed will be the key .The 89 dokes was fast and could hit hard .I think he stops Povitkin in about eight.
Not hard enough. Povetkin has a great chin whereas Dokes not so much. Dokes would outland him right up to the point where he gets KTFO
Dokes wasn't just fast with his hands, he was a pretty good boxer, too. You know, there were a lot of talented heavyweights around in the eighties; Witherspoon, Tubbs, Page, Thomas, Dokes - but they all seemed to have problems with motivation, management, drugs, food etc and none of them really seemed to fulfill their true potential. It was the Don King era, of course, and I'm pretty sure he had a lot to do with it.
I agree with the view that Dokes would probably have a good start but end up getting knocked out down the stretch. He was inconsistent and chinny throughout his career.
Again you assume somthing about Holyfield which you dont or cant back up with evidence....Facts, Povetkin twice has been busted for banned substances. Holyfield has never been busted. Case closed!
