    I think Dokes would win.

I think the Dokes of the Holyfield fight arguably beats any heavyweight out there in '89.

He came very close to beating Holyfield.
Tyson looked sloppy that same month in his fight with Bruno. If it had been Dokes instead of Bruno it might have been an upset.

Razor Ruddock ended Dokes' hope with one massive punch a year later, so it's possible him or big George does that to a '89 Dokes. In heavyweight boxing that's always a possibility.
I think that's Foreman's only hope though, to get him out of there with one punch. I think Dokes would out-box him though.

Dokes could outhustle Foreman for a decision, but if George catches this version of Dokes, it's over.

I could see Dokes beating George the in much the same way Morrison did. Hitting & moving. 12 round decision.

Unfortunately, the 89 version didn't do much moving.

Although Dokes had the boxing ability to certainly trouble a comeback Foreman, his chin raises some questions. He slugged it out toe to toe with Holyfield in one of the best heavyweight battles of the century, but he ended up getting knocked out, and this was only Evander's 3rd fight in the division. Not long after, he was KO'd with one big shot by Ruddock, and somewhere around that time, was floored by journeyman Lionel Washington. My point, is that Foreman's power could have been seriously detremental to Dokes. We also have to address Foreman's very effective cross arm defense at the time, which would not only make it difficult for Dokes to land effectively, but also play a role in wearing him down. The best possible scenario for Dokes, would be to stay out of range and box his way to a decision. The problem however, is that a late 80's version of Dokes had mainly resorted to trading at close range with his opponents, rather than box like he did years before. This would not be a good thing to do against Foreman at any age....
