Who wins this battle of the talented underachievers at their best and why? My pick would be Williams based on his jab and overall superior boxing ability. Dokes had fantastic speed and heart but had relatively short arms and was susceptible to a good jab

At least Williams beat fair class fighters and fought a lot more talented fighters than Dokes did. Dokes and Tubbs beat nobody before they became champions then just fizzled out, its beyond me how people rave about what could have been.

Williams beat an unbeaten bert Cooper, unbeaten jesse Ferguson, berbick and some say Holmes, some say Witherspoon and he also took on Bruno, Tyson and Morrison.

What did Dokes ever do? Beat weaver and stood up well losing all the way against Holyfeild?

I am going with Williams here.

I could see Carl winning this by decision, but prime-ver-prime, Michael would be dangerous for the first three rounds.Dokes was quicker and faster than Williams, and he would catch him early in the first round, flooring him and setting the tone. The fight would end in three rounds, with Carl laid out for the ten count. Many underestimate Dokes' toughness.
