This content is protected I think this is a pretty interesting fight he's never seen anything like Dokes before, a future athlete with super speed and high level defense plus Dokes was a good counter puncher but Dokes is susceptible to getting stopped by hard hitting aggressive fighters with good chins like as shown against his loss to Gerrie Coetzee
Such fast hands.. I watched that video twice. Holyfield could do it.. so could Louis. (that makes me want to watch Holyfield-Dokes again)
Louis early-mid rounds. Dokes would let his hands go, and Louis would catch him because of it. Better short punches, better timing at close-mid range, and more power, and Dokes didn’t have a particularly iron chin.
Louis would win by KO or TKO at some point. But if Dokes is on point he would give a good account of himself for a while
they didnt have anything close to this in the 1930s. unfortunately, Mike didnt seem to train very hard and lacked stamina so I'm betting against him
That was a brilliant fight (EH Vs MD) . It was the beginning of a great heavyweight era of exciting fights.
Dokes would be hell the first few rounds because of his speed. He would potential floor Louis a couple of times in that time frame. But as the fight goes on, it favors Joe. Michael gets stopped around the 10th or 11th round.
