I was only a kid but my dad who also worked with me as a moulder just couldn’t cope with the guy and it effected his nerves as he was so different when drunk,fortunately rather than jack his job in,the advice to my dad was to ride it out as he had a reputation for not lasting long due to his drinking and so it proved.
In this age of tolerance and snowflakes some folk just don’t believe me about characters like that,larger than life and thank God,absolute one offs lol.
Stood me in good stead the foundry as you either give it back as good as you get or end up running down the road by brew time.One particular bully who was troubling a lad who had the mental age of a child got his come uppence when my mate shat in his shoe in the showers,come shower time he got dressed and stepped in a right mess,presumed it was the lad he’d been bullied and set about the naked lad in the shower and chased him next door in to the office where the boss was trying secure a big deal with some Americans,you could hear the screams from the ladies in the office lol,sacked on the spot and even the boss had to laugh the day after as nobody likes a bully.
Not sure if those were the days or not lol.
