I've been a fan of it almost as long as I've been a fan of the sport! Probably one of my favorite background noise shows too. I keep harboring a secret hope that tonight's main event is just some elaborate marketing campaign for a Netflix revival

 

I’m not sure I’m insane for thinking this many people picking a 58 year old Tyson who hasn’t trained properly for the best part of 20/25 years (even when he was still fighting) wins is insane.

Sadly I have to agree with you despite how much I want Tyson to send Paul to the shadow realm. Tysons legs have gone (they were gone when he was actually active) plus he doesn't have the stamina. People saying that the short rounds will favour him seem to forget that it will also favour Paul. Anyway let's hope that Mike can role back the years one more time and expose Paul for the fraud he is

Man the 1st fight really was a war. I think this fight will be more tactical.

 

It's nothing but laughable that this is a sanctioned bout and that they are actually trying to commentate it like Tyson is greater than father time after doing nothing for 2 decades.

Anyone trying to argue that respect is deserved for Jake Paul on this fight is one half an idiot in my opinion.

Whether you're a fan of boxing or not this was just sad to watch Tyson had no balance no legs no timing and looked every bit of a 58 year old man.

The thing that annoys me is that all the amazing fights we see earlier tonight will be overshadowed by this total farce of a fight and that disgusts me more than anything.

Has society really stooped so low that we allow 58 year old to fight a 27 year old ? I'm honestly sick of all these online celebrities and all their fake personalities and fake celebrity fights.

All the former great boxers who have passed since who dedicated their life to boxing and went through so many battles. Must be literally turning over in their grave witnessing these sham celebrity boxing matches where these online celebrities get paid more than actual boxers makes me sick to my stomach.

It's awful but just be thankful that the very worst thing didn't happen.

 

Why was it fought for two minutes a round? I had never heard of this for a pro bout since the times when a round ended when someone got knocked down.Was it because of Tyson'a age?

 

If Jake Paul ever dreams that he beat THE Mike Tyson then he needs to wake up and scream I'M SORRY!!!!

 

I mean, I completely agree with all this. I have to be honest - I didn't even watch the fight because it was pretty clear what would happen. No ex fighter, however good they were, should be getting back in the ring again at nearly 60 - especially against someone half their age.
The thing is, I don't actually hate Jake Paul. What he's been doing is kind of a different aspect of the sport. It's certainly not proper boxing, but I guess there is a place for it (fighting youtubers and MMA guys). But this crossed the line for me. It was grimly cynical. Everyone involved should hang their heads in shame.
The thing I actually hated the most is the hype around it all. I watched some of the build up and they referenced it being one of the biggest events of Mike's career, is the old Mike back, etc, etc. Madness. I remember how dreadful he looked at the tail end of his career, before he retired, and that was 20 years ago. So you have this non fight being sold as some sort of consequential boxing match - it does not represent the sport and Paul is not a serious boxer. I just wish they'd be honest about it.
