Gomez is still good for 5-6 rounds full pelt, you seen what he done to Amir Khan and also his fight with Johannsen, i wouldnt write him off yet, and i believe if he was offered the fight with Arthur hed take it in a hurry. The fact of the matter is he destroyed Arthur, and probably has his number. Gomez is also playing the game which Arthur played with him when Gomez needed the rematch, Arthur never gave him it and now is wanting it knowing Gomez is at the end of the road. I think Gomez should take the Rick Burns fight instead he has the commonwealth belt and Arthur has jack. Arthur has also been heard saying he has lost respect for Cook as a man that he didnt give him a rematch, thats bollocks!! Who gives a **** if he didnt have to go to England and fight Cook, this was probably the easiest defence he would of had, and he made an arse of it, then decided to blame it on the judges cos theyre english, what a lot of ****. The boxing crowd arent blind we seen the fight. Dunky you cant tell us different (but you tell it like it is) well your dillusional, and you still think he won it. Arthur is looking for the easy way back into contention, now that he knows Cook isnt giving a rematch hes trying out the Gomez route, it all sour grapes on Arthurs part. Cook had his chance and took it, whats a true champ?? He lost to Luevano but came back srtronger and won his belt legitamitly in the ring unlike some people!!!! Stop bitching and take it like a man..
Dunky my good man, you need to give it up with the paranoid rantings! This whole "England v Scotland" thing is not viewed in half the same way down here that it is by some of you guys up north. To a certain extent when the football teams are playing maybe, but down here Arthur v Cook was just another boxing match, let the best man win. We certainly weren't jumping around the living room in our George cross underpants! The whole "rivalry" thing is completely in the heads of some of those up north. Admittedly I haven't seen the fight as I and most of my mates boycotted the card on account of the PPV so I'm not going to argue on the scoring except to say that you remain the only person on this board I have seen state that they thought Arthur won it. Also it is worth mentioning that there was no moaning about three English judges when they awarded him a UD over Foster jnr. As for Harrison v Brodie, I seem to remember two judges had Harrison ahead 29-28, the other had the same to Brodie (I may be wrong it was a long time ago). However, I fail to see how either score is unreasonable. I myself had it even. Whilst Harrison came out strongly and took the first, Brodie held his own in the second and comfortably took the third (may have been vice-versa). True, he didn;t seem to be hurting Harrison and I always had the impression he wa going to get ground down by the bigger man eventually, but until that point it was a good fight. On Gomez, he doesn't have the brains to be afraid of anyone. But in any case, he's more shot than Brodie was! Arthur damn well should destroy him in a rematch if he has anything about him, but it wouldn't prove a damn thing.
