Well boxed mate, Carls a tough bugger isn't he? For those interested Gomez won by KO in two after taking a few hooks early on. Nurse won a very competitive four rounder using the ring well and showing some nice moves. Allen pushed him very hard and it was as entertaining a four rounder as i've seen for a while.

I won't go into a lot of detail as I'm sure VIP will want to do their post in the next day or so.Gr8 show. :good

It doesn't seem so unrealistic watching Arthurs last fight. Although I always said he was overrated.

Gomez will never fight Arthur again- their good pals these days... The only rematch Gomez is interested in is Carl Johanson.

Do you think the stoppage was premature in the last fight?

I remember watching it and Gomez and his corner were livid. I thought he could have let him go on a bit longer but he was starting to take a lot of shots.

No I think Gomez had already had his best moments tbh... I think if he had of approached the match with his normal aggresive mindset he may have scored an upset. Gomez was competitive but only sporadically and he only 'woke up' after the first visit to the canvas.

Gomez at his peak would have battered Khan who I think will fall short of even Alex Arthurs achievements.

Gomez-Carey was competitive and Carey claimed in the Amir Khan- Gomez preview that if he had been given enough time to prepare he'd have beaten Gomez.... He's been given 8 weeks. Lets see what happens.

    No chance, Gomez PTS again!

I think the Gomez vs Johanneson stoppage was perfectly timed, I know he seems to love taking punishment - but he was in danger of being put to sleep in a bad way.

The fact that he was able to complain about it showed that the stoppage was fine.

I think Johanneson would like a rematch with Mitchell - that was what he was trying to mumble last time I saw him in Leeds. Must say Carl likes his ale!

Good to see Michael staying busy after the brave display against Khan. Id expect him to beat Carey then a rematch against Carl would be great with the winner getting a shot against Mitchell. Carl gave Kevin all he could handle back in March and i think the version of Michael that turned up against Khan would do the same. Gomez vs Mitchell would be explosive for 5 or 6 rounds. I didnt expect to see Mike back in the ring so soon after the Khan fight and infact wondered whether we would see him at all.

Gomez was on Bunces boxing hour today saying he would love the rematch with Arthur. If the half hearted AAA turns up which he does from time to time i wouldnt at all be suprised to see the same result as 03. Id love this to happen!

gomez vs mitchell should happen, that would be a close fight, gomez could stop mitchell if he put enough pressure on him in the first 5 rounds

mitchell gets rocked pretty easily, you can see him getting hurt whever he gets hit, you can see the shockwaves go through his head
