Wilder is a total freak .. A kind of heavyweight version of a welterweight Tommy Hearns .. at 215 fighter with a gigantic reach with absolute one punch power to flatten 260 pound men .. at the same time still raw and wild ... what Wilder does have in addition to his power is he is a warrior and a mean SOB in the ring .. he comes to fight. Way too tough for Grant.
Grant holds that left at his kneecap. After he jabs he brings it back as low as anyone. Too big of a window for a right hand hitter like Wilder. Too bad Don Turner can't get those Grant trunks up even higher. He had the highest trunks on a fighter I ever saw. But they would need to be up by his jawline----which was not all that much further than where he kept them.
Grant had arguably the worst chin/heart ratio I've seen in heavyweight boxing. The heart was super strong but the chin was oh so weak and the defense porous. Against anyone halfway decent he'd be likely to hit the floor but he'd always try to get right back up to his credit. Against a legit one punch, aggressive bomber like Deontay though I'd expect a highlight reel KO to transpire and it'd transpire quick. Wilder by KO in 1-3.
