If this fight were to happen in 1999, who would win?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Grant beat THAT VERSION of Klitschko. Grant showed heart against Andrew Golata, while Klit tired against Purity right around the same time period.

I dont think Grant could bring the pressure needed to beat Wlad. I think Wlad is good enough to keep Grant at range and stop him mid rounds with the big right hand.

Vlad should be able to take him out between 1-8

I feel Grant could have beat him. He showed heart and could survive Wlad early, he can KO him late. He had very nice pop and could get to Wladdy who was shaky late in fights.

99 Wlad goes inside takes Grant out early.
Grant had caused a later Wlad version more problems imo.

I think Grant could have beaten him. Wlad could not have kept him in range because they have about the same range , could go either way really .

Michael Grant is in the top-10 right now, but his team is lousy at pushing Grant these days...... Grant is still young enough to do something, but he must beat Tom Adamek or he is dust......

I'd go with Wladdy's skills but not with confidence Grant could KO him and I'd expect Wlad to be tentative like he was against McCline

This would go exactly like the one sided slaughter Wlad gave to McCline. Grant was no better than McCline.

I agree, cant see how Grant wins. He was a big target with not a great jab and suspect defense. He was also tall and lanky and not the greatest at applying pressure so I see the jab of Wlad which has always been good, the key to the fight. Behind that jab comes a booming righthand. At that point Wlad was more offensive minded, so I see a stoppage by mid rounds once Wlad gets that jab working and strands Grant at range for the big right hand.

Wlad. Grant would've been favored at the time, though.

Grant is a guy, like Valuev, who hits less impressively than his sheer size would suggest. Can Wlad take Grant's power? Just about I'd say so I favor Wlad by stoppage.
