Why is he still fighting? Does he really think he can become a contender again or win a belt? He's tall, maybe he should call the NBA?

It's your usual "I want one last try at a title" run.

Grant's keeping himself in top shape, and has fought twice in a little over 2 months. Sure he's probably going to get smushed when he takes on a top heavyweight, but so far he's doing it right. Fight often, get stoppages, even if you're fighting weak opposition.

I can easily think of boxers that should be retired ahead of Grant.

Why should he not fight though,if he likes boxing, and feels he may be able to do something?,i doubt he will be able to,to be honest, but its down to him,its only the media who make a big issue out of these come backs,i bet its down to the fact he needs the damn money, heavyweights aint got the best records for saving there money sadly.

The truth is, the Heavies are in such a state, a motivated Grant could easily get back in the picture. It is not that much of a stretch to see him upset a Brewster or Valuev (for example) and he would be top 10 again.

Let Michael go for it---he"s no worse than a lot of the Oldies--He has all the attributes you need except that most important "SPLATTER YOUR BRAINS ALL OVER THE PLACE--TYSON TYPE PSYCHE".

    Good response.

How anyone can wonder why a pro boxer who was once on the world level, and is still young enough, and has potential to make decent, and even, big money, again....and possibly even get back to the world level, once again.............how someone can wonder why he is fighting is beyond me. :blood

@ Heavierighthand: I totally agree with you.
To the poster: Would you like to live like for example Joe Louis did after being a gladiator in the ring, knowing that you still can get cash from boxing? Or would you be so full of honor to say "No I dont come back, I prefer to be a bum because I dont want to "hurt boxing". I dont think so and I dont like it when someone says "he should retire" or " he hurts the sport" or something like that because you can believe that it aint fun getting beaten but it is worse to have no money.

@joe33: what is the name of the person in your account picture?

Edit: Is it only in boxing that the men get measured by her chances to win a title? Noone says the American soccer team should`nt attend the FIFA world games because they have no chance to win for example. or is it in other sports too?

As bad as the Heavyweight Division is right now - I really think he believes that he has a chance.

When you got Holyfield, Golota, & the rest of those Old Head Fighters still around - why wouldn't you think you got a shot at making it?

Not many people are asking the same question about Vitali.

Gallagher (who's currently training Grant) mentioned in a video interview which of the title belts they're actually aiming for...wish I could remember. I'll have to look it up again. Think it was the WBA or WBO.
