September eleventh in Las Vegas. Headlining a Thursday night card 48 hours before the Canelo vs. Bud Crawford event on Netflix. Ten rounds scheduled at heavyweight.

Both men are 37 years old. Both are Americans. Both have worn continental/international titles at HW but never challenged for a world title despite being ranked for a long time. Both last fought in 2024. Both have one loss. Both have 2 draws. Hunter has 24 wins, 17 by KO; Miller has 26 wins, 22 by KO. Hunter has a 1½″ reach advantage; Miller has a 2" height advantage.

    Miller on points.

Hunter isn’t a serious fighter and hasn’t been for a long time now.

Hunter has looked pretty washed for a while now. I think he must have issues in his personal life for his career to turn out the way it did.

If Hunter can turn back the clock and show up in good shape he has a shot at this. But you have to give it to Miller who has been more consistent against higher level opposition over recent years.

Hunter has been enjoying praise from his loyal fans for years with statements like "Future Champion" and he reacts with I like it, Hunter is not the brightest person and it can be seen by the way he communicates, he hasn't had a real opponent for years and now Miller is going to stop him and I'm glad about that...

They're both gatekeepers at best. Have no idea why Hunter is ranked 10th on BoxRec.

I think Hunter will win the first few rounds, then it will be all Miller dictating the fight thus Miller winning a close decision.

Miller kicks his ass. Hunter is totally done at this point. Too lethargic, passive and negative now to quell Millers pressure and onslaught. 6-7 years ago it might have been a different story.

A Thursday night card. Wtf ? Why not put it on the undercard of the Crawford-Canelo fight ?

I really don't understand promotors these days.

Canelo-Bud already sold out. This brings in some additional revenue, capitalizing on people that might be in town for Saturday's big event and figure "if there's an extra (cheaper) event happening two days earlier, hell with it, sign me up. In for a penny.."

It's notable this fight wasn't announced until over 52k tickets had been sold for Saturday.

I'll be very impressed if both actually make it to the ring

Hunter is about as motivated as a blind man in a library these days

    He'll lose if it happens

Why do you keep entering threads about officially finalized bouts to say that?

Because Hunter, Jalalov and Ibeabucchi fights never come of. When have I been wrong?

I mean yeah they have a lot of cancellations between them (so does Miller for that matter) but hey...Jalolov vs. Shevadzutskyi happened a few months ago, didn't it? :D

Hunter is 37, inactive this whole calendar year so far... his window for any remotely decent paydays is closing. He will probably get mauled by Miller and knows it, but it's a hell of a lot more lucrative to cash out getting stopped by Big Baby than rematching guys like Cassius Chaney or Ignacio Esparza for peanuts.
