If he joins up with Top Rank or PBC, not a bad move, because Hunter was getting nowhere fast, and it was already pretty obvious after getting jobbed against Sasha that Hearn was going to continually rob him and use him as a disposable asset step up fight, regardless of how many matches he would deserve the nod in, sans a knockout, he'd get stiffed, and had nothing serious planned for him. And he definitely had no plans of letting him get in the ring with the goose that lays the golden egg. So smart move on Mike's part.

Should join Top Rank/ESPN. Best chance for him to get a title shot anytime soon. PBC is a waste of time after Wilder lost the title.

I don't blame him even if AJ was able to summon the courage to take the Michael ''The Bounty'' Hunter Jr. challenge E-Hearn was never going to let him anywhere near his golden goose in a million years. To be fair, I don't blame E-Hearn as he was just looking out for AJ's best interest and AJ has already been battered and stopped by Hunter's surrogate son Fat Andy. E-Hearn ain't no mug and trust me he knows full well that Hunter with his CW Level speed and movement, high ring IQ and iron chin and power is a living nightmare for his boy.

Presume he will shoot up the WBC rankings now?

Fury still has (potential) obligations against Wilder, Joshua and Whyte.

The top guys are tied up for the next 12-24 months.

Good move all round , Hunter is going nowhere after getting dropped by an old povetkin - was very lucky the ref didn’t give a knockdown or he’d have lost to an old fighter.

Nope. I predicted that AJ would duck Hunter if E-Hearn was brave enough to select him as an opponent instead of Hunter's surrogate son Fat Andy and the handful of other guys who were on their shortlist and yet again I was proven right.

Should join up with Al Haymon. The bomb squad need a scrawny cruiserweight as a punch bag for Deontay.

Bad move by Matchroom to let go the most talented American HW.

    Where does Hunter go though?

If he goes PBC they won't let him fight :

Kownacki- has a long fight deal with PBC is PBC most popular HW after Wilder and just been found out coming off a KO to average HW. PBC with their fight deal arent going to give up on Kownacki and make him a "lamb to slaughter" by putting him in one sided missmatch against Hunter. They will pit Kownacki against average fighters and bums for the remainder of his deal milking his popularity.

Ortiz - they arent putting Ortiz against Hunter in Septemeber. It would destroy Wilders resume completely when Hunter makes short work of Wilders only credible win just prior to going in to Fury vs Wilder 3.

Ruiz vs Hunter? In typical PBC style I think PBC will look to capitalise of Ruiz new fame and not put him low level average opponents.

A smart move i can see PBC doing is putting Charles Martin vs Hunter. Again easy work for Hunter but they would have a credible fighter as the IBF mandatory.

Even if Wilder was to win against Fury PBC wouldnt put Wilder against Hunter as anyone with sense knows that is far too tough opponent for Wilder who i think would despatch of Wilder within a couple of rounds. Also if Wilder does win he has to fight Whyte (unless WBC screw him about the franchise belt) or a unification fight against AJ.

Top Rank - with Miller messing up again Top Rank would be smart to pick Hunter up.

Rivas vs Hunter - Decent fight I can seehappening, Hunter made quick work of Rivas in amatuers.

Yoka and Takam also would make for decent opponents.

Hunter is probably the most avoided HW after Usyk and AJ in the divison. Too high risk and too low reward and it will be hard to find him an decent opponent willing to fight him.
